Masseria Fano Relais & Wine

This was our favourite masseria we stayed at during our 3-week honeymoon in Italy. We spent 5 nights here loved the relaxed, laid-back countryside vibe, the delicious breakfast (exceptional cornetti) and excellent staff including Rosario and Andrea who helped us choose and book restaurants for dinner in the area. We used it as a base to explore the whole south of Salento and our holiday highlight was visiting delicious traditional trattorias in a series of nearby villages 10-15 min away. PS. They provided luxury Ortigia toiletries in the bathroom which was a detail we appreciated!

Just be aware it's very remote so you'd be very limited without a car. As other reviewers have said you can't have dinner on site, which wasn't an issue for us - worth noting they do run a little bistro until 7.30pm or so where you can have an early salad/simple pasta.

Todo. Fue el mejor hotel de toda la estancia en La Puglia. El lugar es encantador. Cuidan los detalles. El desayuno un espectáculo con pasteles frescos, huevos cocinados con amor y tomates recién cogidos del huerto. Nos despertábamos con olor a cruassan recién hecho. Los vinos nos encantaron y la cerveza artesana con sus aperitivos también. La piscina es una experiencia natural Un sitio impresionante para recolectar con lo natural

Hay que coger el coche unos 15 minutos para encontrar algún restaurante. La opción de cenar allí antes de las 20 horas nos pareció también buena opción si bien la cena no es tan elaborada como en los restaurantes cercanos

The setting is beautiful, gorgeous common area, really nice bedrooms and pool area is idyllic! The staff are very polite, pleasant and helpful. The food at lunch and breakfast was so fresh and delicious. The Masseria’s wine is top class and we ordered and shipped a case of each home! The Masseria only has 8 rooms so it was quiet and almost felt like you had the place to yourself. A proper piece of paradise.

The location - ideally I wouldn’t mind being so far away from towns and enjoy the quietness of the country side but as the Masseria doesn’t offer a dinner service it means you have to travel in the evening - the roads are bad, there is no taxi service and the nearby towns are very quite and not as scenic as some of the others we had visited so this was the only let down. Not so much a dislike but more an area of improvement- the vineyard is on the property but the wine production isn’t which is a shame as would have loved to have done a tour and tasing. Opportunity perhaps to offer trips to the facility

Extremly nice location with a fantastic host and likable staff. The family Suite was spaciuos even though the separate living lacked a bit of light. It is a special feeling to spend the night in such an old kind of stony cage. Breakfast is amazing and healthy and beyond there is a relaxing generous garden with a natural pool pond.

You definetly need a car and it's always a good 10 minute & more drive to reach cool beaches and decent restaurants. Unfortunately they offer just some light lunch options but no dinner menu in this Masseria.

Everything! - Unique, very picturesque location - Very-very beautiful Masseria (best Masseria which we visited in Apulia during our trip - small and exclusive) - Very personal service, incl. time which Andre took for our relaxed check in, interesting wine tasting and organization of our dinner and transport back & forth as we didn’t have a car) - Excellent wines and very tasty breakfast
