Casa dos Pingos de Mel

I genuinely loved everything about this stay. Sofie, the owner, is incredibly kind and hospitable, she made us feel completely at ease and even shared some great tips about exploring Aveiro. She showed a real interest in our trip and in us, which made the experience feel even more personal. 😊 The breakfast was a highlight! I regret not taking photos, as it was beautifully presented, generous, varied, and thoughtfully prepared. The house and our room were so peaceful; it truly felt like a home away from home.

La casa es preciosa, muy amplia, con posibilidad de disponer de cocina, salón común donde se da el desayuno y patio con barbacoa. Parking en el interior. El desayuno fabuloso, con macedonia de frutas muy variadas (piña, manzana, melón, kiwi, plátanos, arándanos,frambuesas y naranja) preparada por la anfitriona, yogures, café, o infusión, zumo natural, embutidos surtidos, algo de bollería...muy bien!!!

Nuestra habitación es la que tiene el baño privado exterior a la habitación. Hay un problema serio de humedad en el suelo de madera, que viene de una filtración de la calle. En la habitación no se siente la humedad pero el olor es totalmente a moho y rancio, que la anfitriona no percibe y que no hemos conseguido eliminar en dos días ventanas totalmente abiertas, y tapando la humedad con varias alfombras. Así mismo, esta habitación da a una calle de mucho tránsito diurno y nocturno por lo que al abrir la ventana, es imposible dormir. Esa ventana no tiene reja, por lo que la sensación era que podían entrar en cualquier momento por la ventana, y llevar las pertenencias, por lo que tuvimos que guardar maletas y enseres en el baño privado cuando nos íbamos, ese si que tenía llave. Una pena porque tanto la casa como la anfitriona son de 10, pero esa habitación no está apta para hospedarse. Solicitamos cambio de habitación para el segundo día, que somos realmente conscientes de que había una libre en la segunda noche, pero no pudo ser. En fin... Ojalá arregle el problema de la humedad.

The breakfast is freshly made by Sophie every day, delicious Portuguese/French touch. Sophie is always available and a down to earth host, is very pleasant to share a talk with her. We ve loved the fact the house has an authentic Portuguese touch, not a sort of "replica" for tourists.

The property was beautiful the room large and airy with a fabulous comfy bed the shower room was spotless with lovely toiletries. Sophie the owner was friendly and a wealth of information regarding places to visit nothing was too much trouble. The secure parking was invaluable with a beautiful outside patio and garden area. In fact it was so good we have booked for next year!😊

Lovely traditional house. Very helpful host, has everything needed for a comfortble stay. Would need a car to access the local sites.

My second time staying at Casa dos Pingos de Mel. Once back in Aveiro, wouldn’t have missed this . For people who like proximity to Beaches, it’s a great place. For me, I am not exactly a Beach Bum. I would ideally have preferred someplace close to the centre of Aveiro. But, other than that, the place is cozy and Sophie is exceptional. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting Aveiro, Portugal.
