Penley House Bed & Breakfast

It's a beautiful old house, well located close to the river park in Auburn. There are restaurants within walking distance. The owner had snacks and bottled water available for guests. The breakfast was very good.

The bathroom was described as "private", which turned out to mean outside the sleeping room, with a separate door from the hall to the bathroom. This was not as comfortable as an "ensuite" bathroom, because we had to leave the bedroom to go to the bathroom, and didn't feel that we could leave our things in it since anyone could enter the bathroom for the hall. and it's a little uncomfortable going into the public hallway in pyjamas.

The 1889 home and decor was a lovely step back in time.

There was no element of our stay that we didn't like.

The house was very well kept. The room was very well decorated and roomy. Mrs Theresa was a very gracious host. The blueberry pancakes for breakfast were excellent.

Breakfast was amaaaazing and they were so kind to get oat milk and even make my French toast with oat milk. Fresh cinnamon rolls and fruit-perfect bacon. No b&b has gone to such lengths for me…nor would I expect them to. The place was impeccably clean. Such attention to details. I took photos of the wallpaper, the spindles on the staircase, the door handle, the bathroom’s tin ceiling, the chandelier, the tile in the dining room. It makes such a difference to eat on linen, from China tea cups, as we were so kindly served. This place is a gem, as is the woman who hosted us.

The windows were likely older settings and so you could hear noise from the street--just bring ear plugs, as I did.

nicely maintained colonial house with a lot of charm. Well taken care off by the owner. Right in town and next to parking garage with free EV charging (just 2 slow charging hours, though)

Loud street and A/C - remember to bring ear plugs.
