"Beautiful views - unenjoyable stay."

2.0

The views from our two rooms were spectacular. Breakfast was also good.

The main reason for booking this property was the parking offered. I contacted them after booking regarding parking and they reaffirmed they had it. When we arrived there was a secure garage offered which we thought was great. The next morning, however, there were clear human fingerprints on the windows and door handles showing someone had tried to get into the vehicle. Then, on the second day, we had a message from the hotel whilst out enjoying Fiestas Patrias events to say would we be back soon as they were closing the parking. We didn’t want to end our day early just for that so we had to pay to park nearby for the night. The other point to note is you have to leave and collect your room keys every time you leave the hotel. It makes it awkward if you want to go on early hikes or evening events as you will have to wake up the owner. Be aware this hotel is also out of town so it’s either an hour walk or an 8 Soles taxi. Final point to note is that the walls are paper thin so if you don’t want to enjoy couples ‘enjoying’ their trip loudly, it’s probably not the hotel for you.

"Cheap Ownership."

3.0

I’ll begin with what few pros there are about this property: the rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the view quite spectacular.

The owners are cheap. Breakfast consisted of bare minimum sandwiches, like butter and bread or avocado and bread or peanut butter and bread, and a juice and a choice of either coffee or mate de coca. No fruit. Eggs only on one day. Substandard by Peruvian standards (Peruvian breakfast is usually amazing). Huaraz is at altitude and they don’t have a tea station nor a water station. You have to pay for even boiled drinking water. They don’t want to give you dry towels when your reused ones are wet. I have no issue reusing towels but if they are still wet at night and I ask for refreshed towels, don’t give me a hard time. Water pressure sucked. You have to message the owner (very responsive) about everything. Oh, you have to drag your bags down a dingy dirty dark alleyway. No easy street access. The property is far from Huaraz and it’s definitely not easy to catch a taxi. This place felt like it was going under. I don’t like leaving bad reviews. But, I can’t in good conscience encourage others travelers to stay here. Skip the view, stay in Huaraz proper.

"Sweet owners and beautiful stay in nature."

10.0

What an amazing hotel!! We really enjoyed our stay here and extended with a few days. The location is amazing with a beautiful view from every part of the hotel, if you are in the shower or in bed you can enjoy the beautiful mountains. And it is only a very cheap collectivo away (1,50 soles) from the city center. As these leave every 2 minutes, it is super easy and cheap to get to the city centre. So it has best of both: beautiful nature views and calm nature vibes, but easy access to the city centre as well! The owners were super sweet and helpful. They made good (and very affordable) food which was perfect after a day hike (also gluten free and vegetarian options). We loved it here and would definitely recommend it.

"Set your expectations, amazing owner though"

7.0

The owner was incredibly friendly, helpful and very attentive. Nice views from the room.

This is a tough one, as i don't want to be negative as i can see there is a lot of hard work and passion going into the business but there is a lot of work to be done. I stayed on the second floor and it was unbearable when another guest was staying in the room above. Every footstep creaked and was so loud I could hear it while wearing headphones. The bath needs work and the table on the balcony is children sized. Also a lamp is needed in the room as finding the light above a non secured step during the night is a little dangerous. If the top floor terrace had furniture that you could sit outside and read a book, play a game, that would have been a lot better.

"Great stay to enjoy the view and peace of the mountains"

10.0

We stayed in the room overlooking the mountains and it was incredible! The owners are really nice, helped us with tours and generally were very friendly and welcoming. I really recommend staying here instead of Huaraz city center to get a great sleep before and after hikes. We stayed couple days in the city center before staying here and could not get any sleep. The small busses to the city center are frequent and just 1,5 or 2 soles.
