The Loddon Swan

Great location for me as I was walking the Wherryman's Way over 2 days and this was the perfect place to end day 1. Clean, comfortable room with good quality products - tea, coffee, biscuits and chocolates. Accommodation is in an annex to the pub so quiet at night. Evening meal was well cooked and plentiful (I couldn't manage a dessert which is very unusual for me!), the cooked breakfast was very good with plenty of choices and the staff are excellent - welcoming, friendly and helpful. It was only a one night stopover but I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Warm and friendly staff. Great first impression. Lovely room with nice personal touches: coffee machine, chocolate square, good quality bath products, great breakfast, very good bread for toast, individually wrapped butter. Easy check in and check out.

Restaurant was closed on the Sunday we arrived but there were lots of food offerings in the village so it was no problem at all.

As I mentioned when handing in my keys, a very serious cause of dissatisfaction was the wholly inadequate lighting in Room 4: with only two feeble wall lights and the two bedside lights heavily shaded, it was impossible to read - except in the bathroom. Even daylight was diminished by the large mirror before the window. Also, I would have welcomed either a much lighter duvet, or old-fashioned sheet and blankets.
