Camp Iguidi Tours

The welcome by Ismail was fantastic. He did everything to make us feel welcome in the Sahara. The kids loved it! The huts are great, very comfortable beds and good if there is a lot of wind. Much better (less flapping) than a tent to stay in. There is only solar power, so the water for the shower and the toilet only works during the day. So it is a real camp experience.

The place and the surroundings

Absolutely loved my stay at Iguidi Tours. Abdul and his family are some of the most hospitable people I have ever met, treating us to a fantastic "Turban" tea and tajine. I also loved sleeping in the traditional mud huts, basic but very cozy. They also have great knowledge of the area and arranged a trip into the desert for us, on camels. Sleeping under the stars, feeling the cold of the desert night and eating delicious Maroccon food - prepared without any electricity - was such a memorable experience. If I could, I would come back tomorrow. Thanks Abdul and Nanne for an unforgettable experience. Truly felt like a home away from home.

That I had to leave?

Very nice camp at the beginning of the desert. You can get there easily with 2WD. The host was very welcome and friendly. Dinner was delicious. They can also set up an activity in the high dunes of Erg Chigaga - day trip (for 150€) or a sleepover trip in the dunes for (200€).

Very friendly and helpful staff, great food, great location, able to drive to it in 2 wheel drive hire car, (Google maps is not great, can ask to be met in the village) was able to walk straight into the dunes to take photos, was given good navigation tips and was phoned as it got dark to make sure I got back ok

Booked a overnight trek and camp, on the day the camel mysteriously ran away, so after waiting around all day, at 3pm I was driven to meet said camel, which was followed by a 20 min walk through scrub to a camp. The next day was an hour's walk back to the main site, this cost 800 dirham. So overall very disappointing and not particularly good value for money. Partly this was my own fault as I needed to be away by lunch time the next day, if I was to do this again I would take into account desert time, which is somewhat different from normal, and would book a second night at the main camp, or renegotiate the price for what I was actually getting.

Absolutely brilliant desert experience, so quiet and peaceful. Awe inspiring. Sand dunes right in front of the riad. Great service. Easy pick up on arrival. Can drive it in a 2wd car. Lovely big breakfast. Looking at the stars by night around the fire. It's about 20 minute walk into town. A great find. THANKS Boujmaa for your service and hospitality.
