The Artist Residence Dublin Boutique B&B

My two nights at The Artist Residence were just what I needed to wrap up my holiday in Dublin. It was a beautiful and peaceful retreat. The homemade breakfast and treats were delicious. I took several strolls along the coastline and walked about 30 minutes to Burrow Beach. The cottage is warm and cozy. There is plenty of artwork to be admired. The hosts Bea and David are generous and welcoming.

I wanted to rest for a few days, flying back from the States, and breaking up the trip about half way. Dublin seemed like a good possibility. When I saw the charm of this B&B from the photos, I was hooked — and wasn’t disappointed.

I was an expensive taxi ride into central Dublin, but since I was there to rest, not to march around viewing historic sites, etc, this was not a problem for me but others might a place closer to the action.

Everything about this place was amazing! It felt like a home away from home and I can't wait to return. Bea and David were the most amazing hosts, so kind and generous! Every morning there is a delicious breakfast made with a choice of full Irish breakfast or the special of the day cooked with such care and attention to detail, including items from their garden and eggs from the hens. We had one breakfast while there and Bea made us one to go as our flight was leaving early the the following morning. Afternoon treats, tea and coffee area available. Me and my partner did not want to even leave the place to venture out into town it felt so comfortable and relaxing! it is in a beautiful location, Sutton which is a short bus ride away from Howth and close to Dublin. Also not far from the airport as well. We were there to attend a concert at St. Anne's Park and felt it was easy to get to and from the venue. I just wish we had had more time there to check out their gallery with original paintings and learn more about Bea and David as they seem like such interesting people. Such a special place to stay at.

The house is beautiful, the grounds are lovely, the breakfasts delicious. The hosts give excellent service, are most helpful and very friendly and welcoming. There are so many little treats and extra additions each day.

In such a building it is difficult to have large ensuites, however their size does not detract one whit from such excellent accommodation.

The extremely gracious hosts, the phenomenal breakfasts, the garden, the location close to infrastructure, the artistic touches everywhere!

Bathroom a bit small, but fine for a 2- night stay.

The breakfasts were amazing! The host was so accommodating. The location was perfect!

The b&b is located on a beautiful property on the bay. It feels quiet and remote but is easy walking distance to shops in Sutton and about a 50 minute walk to Howth. Also very easy to take the bus into Howth (about a 10 minute ride) or the train into Dublin centre. The b&b is immaculate and so cozy with thoughtful touches everywhere. Begonia and David were wonderful hosts - very thoughtful and attentive. The breakfasts were amazing. On the last day as we were checking out we were running behind and David was kind enough to drive us to the airport so we didn’t have to wait for a taxi. Really wonderful experience- highly recommend
