Otorongo Guest House

The place itself is amazing, feels like a little jungle inside of the city which is in the big jungle. All the pets that the owner has are so friendly and interesting. And lady, the owner is a good host, very friendly, helpful and flexible. I needed some favour because for some reason I couldn't get any cash from the atm and she helped me with it, even though she didn't have to do it. The house is located cca. 2 km away from the airport, so it's the perfect stop especially for the first night if you lend with the plane in late hours. It is also a peaceful little street, away from the main road. I fully recommend it to everyone.

Eine tolle Unterkunft in Iquitos. Das Zimmer ist schön und gemütlich und mit Liebe eingerichtet. Außerdem gibt es eine sehr gut ausgestattete Küche. Die Besitzerin ist unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit. In der Nähe gibt es eine große Shopping Mall und außerdem viele Möglichkeiten einzukaufen oder etwas essen zu gehen.

Mit einer Klimaanlage wäre es wirklich perfekt.

We thought the location was good. We loved the garden and the staff was friendly.

I stayed at this location twice. The first time I was not given towels and had to ask for them. There also was no soap in the bathroom and we had to use our own. There was an issue with airport pickup where I waited over an hour for the taxi the hotel arranged but it never showed up. The host did refund me one nights stay which I liked. When we paid we decided to pay in cash so we wouldn't have to pay the credit card fee but then they did not give us our change so it ended up being the same anyway. The second stay we had was a bit worse. We booked the bungalow which at least at the time was a more expensive stay. We liked the bungalow initially but then we found animal poo on the bed. When we told the host she just picked the poo off and didn't bring us new bedding. Then we found three separate ticks in the bedding. We told the host and asked if we could switch rooms and she told us she would check but we didn't hear back. We found an additional tick and decided to leave but as we were leaving the host let us know there was a different room we could have. We did appreciate this but again we were moved to a less expensive room and not refunded anything. Also the booking.com listing said this is a bed and breakfast but there was never breakfast and we did check multiple times.

Super friendly host! Early check-in was possible. Great location—10 min by mototaxi to the airport, 20 to Plaza de Armas. Affordable laundry too!

Super schöner Garten und eine liebe Besitzerin. Die Kommunikation hat super geklappt. Das Zimmer war sehr preiswert.

Leider war das Zimmer und Bad etwas heruntergekommen.

The hostess, Sra. Gabriela I think, was very warm and welcoming. She showed me around the house. The front garden was well kept. The small house-room built there, gives it a nice touch and convenience for anyone who wants more privacy. The decorations inside were unique.

The neighboring dogs started barking loudly around 2 am. 30 minutes later, the house dogs joined in. All that lasted until about 2:50, then they were quiet for about 20 minutes when they began again for another 20 minutes. The road in front of the house is not paved and it gets muddy with the rain.
