Sanda Hiru Guest

The most memorable thing about this place is the wonderful family that run the place. So welcoming and friendly. We had many nice chats and played a local board game in the evenings. Often asked if I needed a tea or coffee. Great included breakfast. I also went for a surf lesson with their son. 1 minute to a small beach where the fishing boats launch and 10 mins walk to Mirisa beach.

Honestly, the place was hold by the most lovely family that we met in Sri Lanka, the room was really good for the price, the breakfast was stunning, dinner was delicious and was really consistent ! We spent 5 days at this place, and it was like being in the family ! Don’t hesitate to book at Sanda Hiru Guest !! Thanks again Damith !

We found a Home in Mirissa—Sanda Hiru stole our hearts 💛 We stayed at Sanda Hiru Guesthouse for two nights, and what we took back was far more than just memories—it felt like family. The room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully comfortable. Every detail reflected the care they put into hosting. Breakfasts were not only delicious but served with such love—you could taste it in every bite. This was packed for us to have it in our train journey when we going from Mirissa to Colombo so tweak it accordingly - The special treats like freshly made pancakes and those addictive coconut toffees were the sweetest surprise! And when we mentioned we wanted to try Sri Lankan masala, they went out of their way to get it for us. Honestly, who does that these days? But what truly made it special was them—the people. Genuine, kind-hearted, and full of warmth. We laughed together, shared stories, and created moments we’ll always carry with us. They didn’t just host us—they welcomed us like one of their own. We can’t wait to go back and stay with them again. If you’re heading to Mirissa and want more than just a place to sleep—go to Sanda Hiru. You’ll arrive as a guest and leave as a friend.

No complains at all

I had the most amazing time at Sanda Hiri Guesthouse, the Family is amazing, so friendly and funny, we played many games and I had the most amazing time with them. The breakfast which is included is great as well and the room is very spacious and clean! The location is also very good and close to everything (walking distance). I will definitely come back and highly recommend to stay there when you want to visit Mirissa.

Very pleasing host.. He knows English. Super sufficient breakfast. Spacious clean bathroom Can sit outside sipping a coffee looking the shade of mango tree in the courtyard. Good pillows. Good air conditioner Value for money.

Amazing Homestay. Brilliant value for money, with a brilliant breakfast included every morning. Room was spacious and air con was a bonus. Made it so easy for us to do laundry and rent a scooter. Location fantastic easy to visit both mirissa and weligama. Family gave us great insight into local area. 10:/10
