They had the beds they said they had.

1. They sold our reserved room to someone else. We walked in to check it out. Accommodations were not easy to access so we went into to town before settling in. By the time we got back (20 minutes later) the room had been re-sold, and the owner and wife were in the “hospital” so the staff refused to help us fix the situation. We had small children with us, and it was New Year’s Eve, and pouring rain. We ended up driving 40 minutes west to find suitable accommodations on such short notice. AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL. 2. You had to SQUEEZE through the downstairs restaurant table to get to the back stairs to climb up to the rooms. Room wall was a clear patio sliding door. Did not feel private or safe. The locks were simple patio door locks. The back door opened to a tiny balcony where people had hung their clothes to dry. Again, not private. There was no caulking or sealing of the back door, so small critters could easily come and go. Felt more like a hostel not like a hotel. Shower was still wet from previous occupant. 3. No lift. 4. Room smelled of mold when walking in. Looked clean, but did not smell clean. 5. No parking. 6. Excessively loud.

This place was one of the comfiest we’ve had amongst our four weeks in Sri Lanka. Ticked all of the boxes, was close to the beach, staff were SO nice and accommodating, big comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, little balcony area to sit & have breakfast. We had booked two nights but extended up staying longer because we liked it here so much. Wifi was also spectacular. There’s even an avocado cafe connected to the hotel where all the staff are superb. Their menu is amazing too. They offered free water refills here which was a blessing. The breakfast we had cooked each morning by the owner was super and tasty. Her roti’s are the best!! 🤌🏽

Unfortunately they have some renovations going on at the moment (they are extending what looks like a really nice bar out the front of the hotel!) but it was a littttle bit noisy at 8:30 in the morning. But I’d imagine this is only gonna go on for a couple more weeks maybe. I would still recommend staying there! We gave our laundry to the hotel which didn’t come back that clean or smelling nice 😔 a bit of a common problem in Sri Lanka mind you.

Good location, across the street from a Cargill's supermarket and a P & S bakery. A short walk to the beach. The room had air-conditioning.

The room didn't match the description of the one I booked at all. No kitchen, no refrigerator, no TV, no terrace with city views. Most of the amenities listed were also not provided, i.e., no hair dryer, no shampoo, etc. I booked a room with 1 queen bed, but got 2 singles. One of the mattresses was quite uncomfortable (the other was ok). They are doing construction on the hotel, there is noise from 8 am - 9 pm. Worst of all, the room was moldy. Moldy furniture, mold inside the wardrobe, moldy pillows, mold in the shower. And the room stank. It's unfortunate, as this has the potential to be a nice hotel in a good location.

Fresh fruit juice on arrival, large room with A/C, comfortable bed, good wifi, great location (close to beach and bars/restaurants), friendly hosts

More care could have been taken to clean the room, but overall great value for money

Very nice place and owner is help frirndly.
