A very cozy homestay with a great view. Observing mountains from the bed was just excellent. Lots.of places to explore nearby. Clean and comfortable. Delociois breakfast. Very friendly and helpful host, he gave us lots of recommendations and communicating with him was really pleasant. Highly recommended

We’re so pleased that we stayed at Camellia while in Coonoor. The location is great, room is spacious with an excellent view and we were looked after very well by the host. Breakfast was delicious. Look no further - Book this place!

The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The manager, Gerald, went out of his way to provide us with local knowledge, which really enhanced our stay and he also organised drivers to take us to some places beyond walking distance. The location was perfect for walking to some really interesting places and some great cafes and shops. The view from our room was stunning from morning through to amazing sunsets. The neighbourhood was very quiet and the breakfasts were delicious.

Location is awesome. We didn't want to leave our room as view from room was really mesmerizing. Hotel is near to supermarket and a coffee outlet. Whatever we needed we told the staff and they arranged for us. It really felt like home.

Loved the location of and views from the apartment - it is not a hotel, just an apartment whose rooms are being let out for tourists. The view from the rooms is great. The location is near Bedford Circle, which is a 10min walk from the town centre and has a host of quaint eateries in and around the apartment. The charge is a tad bit high - but I'm guessing that's the premium for the location aspect. The lady who cleans the place comes in the morning around 8:00 and leaves by 5:00. She makes good tea and coffee, only during these hours. The caretaker Mr Gunasekhar brings in breakfast from outside if you order the previous night - though there is a kitchen, the cleaning lady only makes some omelette; nothing is cooked here. Not a concern, just stating the fact. The manager Mr Gerald accommodated our early check-in with a room to freshen up before our actual room was ready to move into. He also promised us a room (basis availability) for our late check-out, but this was not to be as all rooms were booked; no blame on the property; it's popular from what I see. Also loved that the manager helped us with references of an amazing autorickshaw driver who took us around Coonoor to regular and offbeat places, including great restaurants and eateries. He doubled up as a photographer who took some great shots for us to keep our memories fresh. If you're going to Coonoor, do give a call to Mr Kanagaraju (+916383651237) and he'll happily show you around the place! Overall, it was a great 2 nights that we spent there. Comfortable bed, great views, clean bathrooms, and every smiling and helpful staff - made it a great stay. Thanks!

There were no toiletries provided, just one Medimix soap, which is OK except that the listing mentions toiletries in Booking.com. Also they don't have a full-time cook on premises, which means post 5:00pm you might have to make your own tea/coffee - which one really doesn't want to do during a holiday. As I mentioned, price is a bit high - especially considering some facilities weren't at par with other stays that charge similar rates. But overall it was a great experience. Will I recommend this to friends and family - definitely; but with the caveat that they should carry their own toiletries and also make arrangements to eat in one of the restaurants nearby; and yes be prepared to make your own tea/coffee. Suggestion to property: Why not just have an electric kettle, milk and tea/coffee sachets in the room to make it easier for the guests?
