Happy Ours Guesthouse

We didn't stay our full stay. We paid for the 3 nights but only stayed 1 night .After the 1st night we checked out. We were not comfortable with the location and surroundings. Our view from our window were untidy buildings.The guesthouse had cameras but no on-site security guard which I think that they should have had . The hostess husband did mention it's not safe to walk out at night and during the day to walk without any bags and to keep our money in our pockets, and to always make sure the main door of the guesthouse is closed at all times .After that we did not feel safe at all. As for the the room it is very small and claustrophobic. There's no aircon in the room , but they have a ceiling fan which didn't help with the stuffiness in the room, In the shower there was no hot water the night we landed there and the morning after. The bed sheet had stains and the beddings smelt like it had been used and had not been washed. We decided to stay there after reading the reviews and because our flight into Mauritius was late in the night and it seemed close to the airport and also because the pics of the place looked nice on the website. But we were absolutely disappointed. And lastly the hostess messaged us to buy bottles of alcohol for her because her nephew's wedding was taking place in Feb , but we realized that we were lied to, when her driver mentioned that they were going to use the alcohol at their pub/ restaurant. We are thoroughly disappointed with our experience.

We were made very welcome, by the owner, very helpful, friendly and eager to help in many ways than one. Clean and tidy room, friendly cleaning staff, highly recommended. Close to town centre and Metro services.Will certainly visit again.

Centrally located comfortable place with such a friendly, kind and efficient host. She made my first experience in Mauritius truly remarkable. Thanks again!

The property was excellent but the room space /size was small as compared to the photos but was sufficient. The Host Ms. Roopa is an excellent person who took care of us very well and was very helpful. We would recommend this to all, as the basics, health & hygiene were excellent. The clientele is a mix of Indian & European Lineage.

The wonderful Reba who has recently set out in the hospitality area … as a fellow accommodation manager, I wish her all the best.
