Dois Lagares House & Winery

We loved our 4 night stay at Dois Lagares House. The location in the Douro Valley is absolutely beautiful and the house is lovely too. Our room was really spacious, clean and comfortable and plenty of room to unpack clothes. Loved sitting out on the little terrace in the morning just listening to all the birds and looking at the beautiful view down to the river. The view is even better from up at the swimming pool. The family were so welcoming and helpful, from check in to breakfasts to the fantastic wine tour and tasting at the family winery which we would highly recommend. There are a few restaurants within walking distance too so we didn't have any problem getting meals in the evenings.

Das Gästehaus wird von der Familie selbst geführt, und das merkt man auch! Der Kontakt mit Bruno im Vorfeld über die Anreise, das Einchecken etc hat wunderbar funktioniert. Beim einchecken trifft man dann auf seine Mutter, die sehr herzlich ist und alles zeigt. Die Zimmer sind sehr gemütlich, sauber und auch hell. Dass das Gästehaus direkt an der Straße ist, ist nicht schlimm, da nicht viele Autos fahren. Nachts schon gar nicht. Die Lage ist gut, sodass man zu Fuß in das Zentrum von Pinhao laufen kann. Wir sind die Strecke bei großer Hitze mit schweren Rucksäcken ohne Probleme gelaufen. Das Frühstück ist klein aber fein. Es gibt alles was man braucht. Alles ist von bester Qualität und liebevoll angerichtet. Sowohl von der Unterkunft als auch vom Pool hat man einen wahnsinnig schönen Blick auf die Gegend. Besonderes Highlight ist die Führung von Bruno in seinen Weinbergen und die Weinprobe. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Oberhalb des Gästehauses befindet sich ein Pool. Dieser war zwar bereits befüllt (wir waren im Mai dort), er war aber leider etwas verdreckt, da er zwischen Olivenbäumen und Weinreben steht. Für uns war dies allerdings nicht schlimm, da wir sowieso nicht baden wollten.

A very new building and not quite finished as bathroom lacked a few fittings (toilet roll holder, shelf etc) but when completed will be perfect
