Grosmont House

Really nice breakfast made to order. Staff were friendly but not overbearing. Location almost next to NYMR fantastic. no trains at night and could hardly hear in daytime. Easy £5.50 return train on Northern Rail to center of Whitby. Pub in village serves lovely food and drink.

Bathroom in room small but adequate for average person.

Good location and the house was wonderful. The breakfasts were delicious. We loved the peaceful music playing during breakfast. Selma was a gracious and helpful hostess.

Grosmont house is beautifully situated with large gardens and a quiet location. Everything is tastefully decorated with a lot of attention to detail.

Location adjacent to North Yorkshire Moors steam railway - took a very pleasant ride to Pickering. Location also great for visiting Whitby.

The owner's welcome on arrival. The room and the view. The availability of fresh milk and chilled water in a guest fridge. The location - it was quiet and peaceful, even though we were very close to the Grosmont station, they were only active during the day. The breakfast was exactly what we had chosen, good quality ingredients and attention to detail. The service was attentive and discreet. The information about local places to dine. The car park.

The duvet was a much higher tog than we were used to, but we got used to it. Although the en suite was small and perfectly formed, the towel rail got very hot and was too close to the toilet. I touched it several times during the stay when I forgot to allow for it.

Brilliant accommodation excellent condition and superb breakfast.

The breakfast was pre-ordered the night before. The food was excellently prepared & perfectly served. There were 3 types of home made bread & homemade organic marmalade for heavens sake. What more can you expect.

Nothing with the property. To be really nit picky the access road was unmade & a little stony but that applied to all the properties in the locality.
