This B&B would have been perfectly fine if it had been advertised as a standard guesthouse. Unfortunately, it is promoted as a “luxury 5 star B&B” and, on that basis, it did not meet expectations. Our room, around 3×3 metres, was located at the side of the property in what seemed to be a converted garage. No bottled water was provided in the room and we did not have access to the garden facilities. I think if you stay in another room, it would have felt very different. The owners were polite and welcoming, but there were a few unexpected restrictions. On arrival, we were told they sleep in the room next to ours and to avoid chatting or making any noise after 10 pm. On my partner’s birthday, I asked to borrow two wine glasses so we could enjoy a drink in the garden after dinner. This was agreed to, but with a reminder about the 10 pm cut off, so we decided not to bother. Not the way you want to feel on a romantic break. Breakfast was well cooked and nicely presented, but the quality of ingredients was not what you might expect from a luxury stay, or even close to what I buy at home, with items like budget concentrate orange juice, non free range eggs, non branded baked beans, and very hard budget croissants. Overall, if it had been described more accurately, it would have been an acceptable stay. As a luxury 5 star B&B, it was not quite what we had hoped for.

Breakfast room ok. Had to wait one morning because there wasn’t enough tables

The en-suite was more like a cupboard. If any one had been bigger than 13 stone they would not have been able to use the loo or get in the shower. Having booked a cabin we were disappointed to find that we only had a room which was very poor having paid a substantial amount of money. We feel that we should be reembursed some of our payment For the inferior room.

The breakfast was amazing lots of choice well cooked and presented

Towels were old and too small.
