Excellent staff and nice room.

The Ritz it isn't but lovely clean property with regular top ups of the complimentary tea, coffee and sugar in the room. Rob and Jackie were wonderful hosts and couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was excellent and although choices kept to a minimum was nevertheless a good selection and well cooked with plenty of it. We did eat there each evening and again a relatively good selection at a reasonable price and well cooked.

These are just personal things which we would have liked but can understand the need to keep things to a minimum and keep costs down. A brighter light in the bathroom - it seemed to take ages to reach a reasonable level of brightness; some shelves (again in the bathroom) to place items on and a few more hooks for the towels etc. In the room itself a lot of the electric sockets were hidden behind the headboards and/or in difficult to reach places. With chargers needed for so many items these days this was challenging especially as one we could easily reach was needed permanently for a heart monitor. There was also only one bedside light and as the single beds were not next to one another it was a case of once it's switched off tough on the other person unless of course you left the main lights on. The above did not in any way detract from what was a stay in a lovely old building with all its relevant quirks, happy helpful hosts and excellent value for money.

Rooms were very clean and spacious a real treat. Fantastic breakfast, freshly cooked to order. Not your regular breakfast buffet!

Need to make people aware when booking, this isn't an ordinary pub. Owner is focusing on the B&B aspect hence opening times are from 2:00pm with last food orders at 8:00pm. Own web site and Booking.com showed pub was open all day. We travelled 300 miles to attend a family event. We got there earlier than expected only to find the property was closed. This was not as advertised and not what we expected.
