We only stayed one night but were very impressed with The Old Smithy, Debbie and Pete gave us a warm welcome and the accommodation was immaculate. Breakfast was fantastic too with great quality local ingredients including homemade raspberry jam and eggs from their own hens. Clovelly is in walking distance, it's an incredibly steep hill but worth the effort. There is a land-rover service available if you get down to the harbour and don't fancy walking all the way back, but it only goes as far as the visitor car park which is roughly halway to the accommodation.

We have no complaints, this is one of the best B&Bs we've stayed in.

The room was very clean and had all the usual facilities. The breakfast was really good and the people really friendly. Had a message prior to stating about issues with one of the hotels in Clovelly to ensure I could prepare for dinner.

The walk from the visitor centre. But that was mainly down to me and my walking that day. I was knackered but walked up to the B&B from the village.

Large 1st floor bedroom with even larger bathroom with shower/bath. Bathroom floor heated. The bedroom was configured with a double bed and a single bed. As there were only the two of us, we were able to place our two travel suitcases up on the single bed - beats balancing theme on chairs of having one or both on the floor. Peter and Debbie were very attentive hosts. Sumptuous breakfast. Free off-street parking. Wi-Fi good. The major attraction was the Clovelly village which was a two minute level drive away. We could have easily walked, but chose not to as the village itself was on a very steep slope and we were pacing ourselves for that. We did the trek on two consecutive days and definitely had made the correct decision.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely property and felt very welcome. The room, for three people, was ideal for our visit to Clovelly village. Our hosts were able to give us lots of information on Clovelly and the coastal path walks. The breakfast was amazing.
