Staying at Al Ponterosso was an unforgettable experience, a true gem nestled in one of the most beautiful corners of Trieste. The location alone is worth every praise – our room offered a breathtaking view over the Canale Grande and the iconic Ponterosso, making every morning feel like waking up inside a postcard. The room itself was full of charm and character, designed in a palazzo-style that reflects the grandeur of old Trieste. The furniture was both spacious and thoughtfully arranged, ideal even for longer stays, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable – one of the best we’ve ever slept in. Everything was clean, and the original décor and artwork gave the space a truly unique personality that set it apart from typical accommodations. But what really made our stay special was the host. She welcomed us with such warmth, grace, and positive energy that we felt at home from the moment we arrived. From her helpful guidance during check-in and check-out to her engaging conversation and thoughtful touches throughout the stay, she embodies hospitality at its finest. The breakfast is curated selection of high-quality food and beverages, beautifully presented and tailored with care. It was the perfect start to each day, reflecting the same attention to detail that runs throughout the entire B&B. And last but not least, we must mention the two elegant feline residents, whose grace added a quietly regal charm to the home. They were calm, gentle companions who added to the refined and peaceful atmosphere. In every way, Al Ponterosso exceeded our expectations. We will absolutely return and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, soulful, and welcoming place to stay in Trieste.

This is one of the best B&B we've been to. The apartment was wonderful, classic and with a lot of life to it. Not to mention super clean rooms and bathroom. It felt truly like home. The host was super friendly and recommend us multiple locations to visit in Trieste. On our last day we were offered free breakfast on the host's living area and it was simply wonderful. The host also played the piano for us. It was one of a kind experience for me and my partner. So we are very grateful! We could see the love put into the B&B and highly recommend it. We will definitely come back if we pass by.

I selected this accommodation based on positive reviews that clearly did not represent the room I received. This experience was completely inconsistent with the rating and reviews shown on the platform and represents a significant misrepresentation and scamming on Booking.com's platform. The extreme disparity between the positive reviews/photos and the actual room I received is deeply concerning. After careful consideration, I believe the hosts may be operating two different rooms under the same listing - one that garners positive reviews and another substandard room that I unfortunately received. This practice, if intentional, constitutes misrepresentation and scamming. My primary concerns are as follows: 1. Undisclosed presence of a pet cat: The listing initially failed to mention the presence of animals on the property. The entire accommodation smelled strongly of cat, and I was unable to open windows for ventilation. 2. Unacceptable hygiene conditions: - Furniture and walls covered with visible stains and dirt - Extremely dirty bathroom with mold, leaks, and visibly soiled shower curtains - Overall cleanliness well below basic hospitality standards 2. Privacy violations: - Bathroom located in a public corridor with undisclosed video surveillance and no privacy. - Unauthorized entry into my room to "organize" my personal belongings and the bed without my consent 3. Misrepresented accommodations: - Extremely dated room and cramped bathroom making movement difficult and basic functions uncomfortable and potentially unsafe. - Dated, poorly maintained furnishings contrary to listing photos - Significant noise disturbances both from outside and within the property, to the point that I had to ask you stop the noise. These conditions rendered the accommodation unsuitable for habitation and significantly different from what was advertised and reviewed on the booking platform.

So central, short walk from cruise port and to bus & train station. Hosts could not have been nicer. We did not take breakfast but they provided a lovely breakfast on last day, would definitely recommend.
