The size of the room was adequate. I liked that there was a covered braai area with a fridge. The manager was nice.

On the first day we arrived it was as if they were notified of our stay an hour before check in. Nothing was done, the B&B didn’t look ready to receive guests. Our room wasn’t done by check in time. We sat by a dirty pool as we waited for the staff to finish our room. Upon doing our checks in the room, we discovered a fridge area filled with cockroaches and open food. Even after it was “cleaned out” the cockroaches returned day after day making our stay very uncomfortable and unpleasant. The room wasn’t cleaned properly, there was dust and alcohol packaging from what I’m assuming was from the previous guest. The shower and bathroom had mould and mildew. I didn’t even feel comfortable using the shower accessories, it was disgusting. The shower fixtures were dirty and loose. The shower head was pathetic, barely any water coming through. The towels weren’t changed daily, not that it matters because they were disgusting. It was old, crusty and smelt vermif. Only the bed was made daily, the room wasn’t cleaned which is no surprise considering the state it was in on our first day. There was no breakfast menu, you’re told what’s for breakfast. No consideration of any dietary restrictions or requirements. The cook looked very annoyed when you would show up for breakfast. The cook who seemed to be working as a cleaner as well was very annoyed with any request. The safe didn’t lock and I was very surprised to see how the guests rooms were left open after they were “cleaned” with all our belongings inside. Staff presence was also very poor. The pool wasn’t very clean. There was a lot of dirt gathered at the bottom, the creepy crawly was only switched on on the third day our stay as the managers family visited her at the B&B.
