My only regret was not being able to stay longer.. perfect little gem outside of the hub of Rome and just a stones throw from the airport. The property was the perfect little reset of peace I needed after a busy adventure. Monica was a phenomenal host - kind beyond measure, with heart put into everything. The energy of the home was warm and positive and I will be sure to stay here to end my future Italy trips with the perfect cherry on top. Grazie mille for making this stay an absolute breath of fresh air!

Everything was perfect!

As a retired attorney, I generally avoid using superlatives. But I cannot review Il Viandante without using at a few. The location is outstanding, with a short walk to excellent dining, and a short drive to FCO Fumicino Airport (aka Leonardo DaVinci Airport). The airport, in turn, offers easy access to Rome via the Leonardo Express train. I chose Il Viandante because of its airport-proximate location, because our flight was scheduled for the following day. Our hostess Monica kept in touch with me during my tour of Calabria, to effectively coordinate arrival and check-in. We arrived at the bnb by taxi from Rome, so there was no need for Monica to pick us up from the airport train station. A meticulously-maintained garden greeted us, and Monica led us up a flight of steps to the B&B rooms – ours was the blue room and another flight up led to the red room. Both the common area and our room were beautifully decorated, comfortable and inviting. The common area featured a kitchen with automatic coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator and sink. And cookies. Lots of cookies. While the listing said “breakfast available”, it was included and Monica set up a feast for us. There is a wall of helpful information, from emergency phone numbers to local eateries – including distances and brief menus. Our room featured a lovely balcony which overlooks the garden, perfect for morning coffee. I have never encountered a better bed and breakfast facility. Any question I might have was already answered on the info wall, and Monica was immediately available for anything else. On our departure, she arranged for a ride to the airport.

I tried to think of a “con” to report. But there was not a single thing about our stay that was less than excellent.
