Being served breakfast with host in dressing gown pyjamas and slippers, served instant coffee. Room had no where to prepare or eat food. Crockery cutlery not clean. Duvet not right way round on bed

When I arrived I was told that there was no booking. I went to get my confirmation, then when i came back she said the booking had just arrived which was odd as I had booked over a week before. I booked and paid for a room with a sea view and private bathroom. The room I was given didnt have a sea view, and the bathroom down the hall was only not shared as I was the only one staying. The bathroom was full of midges that kept divebombing me. The host asked if I wanted breakfast but I had no idea what it was so I just said no.
NZExcellent room. The view is epic, and you get a Microwave, Toaster, and welcome Chocolates in your room. The host was very friendly and easy to talk with but also just let you be. The best thing is that there is no bond/deposit, which I'm very happy about because I didn't have much spare funds.
You need your own car or to arrange drop-off and pick-up with Paraparaumu Taxi 04 296 1111. There's no Uber in Paraparaumu, and it is up a steep hill, which is great coming down, not recommended coming up This isn't so much something I didn't like; it's just something to keep in mind.
