wow! just wonderful. wished we could of stayed longer, we slept like a log! all the extra details were so nice and greatly appreciated. fresh farm eggs and bread and homemade jam!

Everything. The entire cabin is spacious, clean and delightful. The bed is comfortable and running shower hot. Kitchenette is well equipped. The host is very generous with the breakfast supply. I came for the alpaca and I am very happy to see them up close.

Easily one of our best stays in NZ. Would love to come back for another visit.. and hopefully stay for more than 1 night. Owners take a lot of pride in making the visit comfortable and it shows up in the little details.

"The best accomodation during my 3 weeks in NZ!"

Very nice two bedroom lodge and kitchen was well-equiped with good quality utensils and crockery. Bathroom was nice too. The lodge was well-cleaned and maintained and looked spanking new. Behind the lodge (though a gate) were the owners' alpacas (and a sheep) that you can hand-feed. My son and wife had a great time with the alpacas. There was also a washing machine and dryer free to use with free detergent provided. Joanne the owner has put much thought into all the little details for the lodge that would make guests very happy. Excellent value for money. I will choose Misty River Retreat again on my next trip to NZ
