Williams Homestay

Nestled close to tea gardens and laced by the tracks of Himalayan Heritage Railway, the homestay is a cosy set up of 2 bedrooms, 1 living space and a corridor which houses both the kitchen and the dining space. Huge windows (road facing) greet the majestic pines while the back yard leads to the garden space. The interior is clean, well maintained and is set up aesthetically. Jenny, the house keeper is a decent cook although with a restricted recipe book. You need to go up a stone staircase in order to reach the homestay, which can be a deterrent for aged folks. The kitchen is moderately equipped with crockery and utensils, however, does not have a microwave. One noticeable dissimilarity with other homestays are the dinner plates – thankfully, these are ceramic unlike the melamine fare that others provide. We went in the last week of December and the nights were way too chilly for comfort. The voltage situation is quite bad with the bed warmers and room heaters (only two are available on extra charge) barely functioning thus rendering everything stone cold. Even the electric kettle takes forever to warm up till about 9:30 PM post which it starts getting better. Water situation too isnt much better where the water pressure is quite erratic despite switching on the pump. The garden is just a bare space with an overgrown squash plant and six logs of wood with overgrown grass and is thus not good for sitting or using. We had requested for a bonfire which they could not arrange. The bathrooms are spacious with bizarre locking mechanism and rubber mats which cause them to remain wet throughout the day. Overall a nice place if you choose to eat outside, have no elderly person accompanying you and your times of visit are in the warmer months.

Location is too good for people who wants to spend amidst the serene nature . Breakfast to also of good quality. It's clean around and the views from the rooms and balcony gets a 100%.The furnished rooms adds another level of satisfaction in the trip. Definitely have to go again to enjoy .!

The food can be an bit better.

Location was the best. Facilities were at the highest level. Everything were so perfect, it made our stay pleasant.
