Sri Mathie Historic Estate

Ein wunderschoenes Fleckchen Erde. Der Pool war wunderbar, unser Cottage gemuetlich und das Fruehstueck sehr lecker. Guy und Mary waren wunderbare Gastgeber, Mary kochte an manchen Abenden und man hatte die Möglichkeit am Abendessen teilzunehmen. Freddy die Dogge war sehr freundlich und vertrug sich gut mit den Katzen. Es gibt überall schöne Orte zum relaxen. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und hoffen irgendwann wieder ein paar Tage dort verbringen zu können.

We stayed at Sri Mathie Historical Heritage in Habaraduwa, Sri Lanka for three days, and it was truly a special experience. Our hosts, Guy and Mary, are absolutely wonderful — warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they’ve created. The villa itself is stunning: the interiors, the thoughtful details, and especially the beautiful collection of vintage tableware and decor make the space feel unique and inspiring. One of the highlights is the incredible library, as well as the peaceful infinity pool. There are so many cozy corners where you can sit in silence, read, work, or simply listen to music — it’s the perfect place to slow down and recharge. The area around the villa is very clean, quiet, and picturesque, which adds to the overall sense of calm and privacy. A secret gem 💎 My husband and I truly loved staying with Guy and Mary, and we will definitely be back.

We had an excellent stay in a very authentic and cozy home for the last part of our holidays in Sri Lanka. Guy and Mary were very welcoming hosts and served us delicious breakfast with homemade curd, granola and bread. Home made dinner was also available but we unfortunately could not join due to our schedule. The pool is beautifully located in the middle of the forest and was the best pool we had during our trip. The house is located in a very quiet and serene place but with a scooter/tuk tuk, everything can be reached quickly. Overall, we had a great stay at Sri Mathie and would definitely recommend to anyone!

Sri Mathie is a place for those who appreciate details. Everything from the garden landscaping, the artwork and the fabrics selected for linen and towels - this place is carefully curated by the owners. You won't feel like leaving once you experience a home cooked meal by Mary or the best coffee in Sri Lanka prepared by Guy. We loved everything about our stay here. Guy and Mary are such tentative hosts, welcoming you into their paradise. Our only regret is not staying for longer.
