Breakfast could be better. Bigger smart TV. No plastic furniture in room. A boat to go out on water or access to one (for pay)

"Straff very pleasant and we had a nice getaway weekend."

7.0

They provided muffins, cereal and milk, yogurt, orange juice. They would have provided coffee but we don't drink coffee. It was sufficient but I would have preferred some eggs and a breakfast meat.

No air conditioner thermostat control in the room. We would have cooled the room down before going to bed. Most evenings the room temp was between 75 and 76 degrees F. Turned on the ceiling fan and that helped.

"Excellent little one-night get-away. Would book there again."

Great views and the owners are wonderful! Excellent location for exploring Pine Island and Matlacha. Rooms are clean and spacious. Plenty of parking.

A little clearing instructions on how to check in. Didn't quite understand to go upstairs and ring the doorbell. May have been my misunderstanding.

"Relaxed getaway in a cute and artsy fishing village"

9.0

Our hostess Diane, along with the resident crow, greeted us like family and showed us how to work the storm blinds and the fridge in the room. The room was large and comfortable with a private bathroom, decorated like old Florida (felt like we were staying with a beloved aunt) wifi and TV but we never turned it on. In the room, there are books and games, information about local places and historical figures that influenced the area. The house sits on Matlacha Pass Aquatic Preserve, a tidal node to the west of Cape Coral. The street was filled with high end houses and vacation rentals, quiet and safe. I spent hours between the morning, sunset and evening spectacular storms on the balcony, surrounded by water, osprey nests, dolphins that could be seen in the water, waved at boaters passing by, pelicans and even a view of the Fishingest Bridge, which is on the connector between Malatcha and Pine Island (still being rebuilt after a rough hurricane season last year but functioning). The bed and pillows were comfortable, with extra blankets and pillow in the closet. The breakfasts were generous and filling and provided between 8am and 9am at our convenience and could be eaten on the 2nd floor balcony or from our room. It was cereal, muffins, juice and coffee, yogurt and fruit waffles presented in a loving way. We drove but in a less hot season, it would be within walking or biking distance of Micelli's Restaurant and the Fishingest Bridge, which is lined with shops that and restaurants that survived Helene and Milton 2024. The bridge leads to Pine Island, which we enjoyed exploring. We visited the Calusa Heritage Trail in Bokeelia (north part of Pine Island, would need to drive) the Museum of Pine Island and the local library, (Pine Island center), and had some fantastic tacos to go from Tacos El Viajon food truck. It was the relaxing and peaceful break we needed- would definitely return and recommend.

Nothing I didn't like. Bring a blow dryer. Be prepared to slow down and relax. Like the sign says, when you enter the area, "You're on island time." Plan for the weather during storm season. There is no pool or beach but you will still have an amazing time, the views are to die for. You will need to walk up two flights of stairs and there is no elevator.

We had a great visit! Diane & her husband were perfect hosts! The highlight was watching the Osprey Nest on the property where Mom & Dad Osprey brought fish to their 2 baby birds! The fledglings were almost ready to “fly the coop”. Wish we could have stayed to see that! We’ll be back!
