BEThis guesthouse is managed in an "unconventional" way, but the staff makes all the efforts to help you. Breakfast was good; we enjoyed the "common" kitchen: here you can meet the other guests and we had wonderful conversations. We skipped the "evening-get-together", but we saw the next morning that it had been fun. If you want something else than "just another tourist hotel", Memo's is surely a good choice.
If you are not happy about something as a guest, you have to speak to staff immediately and give them the opportunity to solve the issue immediately. As such, a (possibly) negative experience can be turned into a positive one, and that is what happened to us at Memo's. We had a great stay.

CHWe got a friendly welcome and were shown to our room. They spoke almost no english, but we managed to communicate via google translate. The room was okay, but it seems we got unlucky and got the darkest room in the house. The common areas are nice. The breakfast was good.
The bathroom needs to be renovated, it looked quite unclean, but probably it was more because all the tiles were cracked etc. The toilet made a lot of noise and we had to fix it more than once. There was not much more than a trickle of water coming out of the shower and sink, and we had almost no hot water. The first day we were there it seemed to be a better, I was able to wash my hair, but the second day it was impossible - so maybe it was only a temporary problem since it seemed to change over time?

CABasic but very clean and comfortable guesthouse. Our bed was quite soft, especially compared to the rest of the country. Breakfast is very good, and was different each day. It's about 15 min walk to downtown, but it's an easy walk and is very safe. It is very quiet. We didn't hear the other guests at all. Air conditioning is not needed, but a fan would be nice.
The shower doesn't have much power.
