"A great place to stay as a base for activities in the Margate area."

8.0

Tim was very welcoming. The house was warm and comfortable, the continental-style breakfast was generous, tasty and healthy, and we were invited to sit downstairs in the evenings as the bedroom was not large. The outside of the 1880s house and its neighbours are a real curiosity and well worth spending some time looking at or, indeed, drawing. Birchington village is an easy walk away, with various eating places and a railway station connecting to London and Margate. We were there in early February, so no beaching, but a good visit to Margate, including the Turner Gallery.

Nothing can be done about it, but be aware that the stairs are steep and narrow, to be negotiated with care.

Tim the host was very welcoming. He showed the set up and made us feel at home. Although the facilities were shared, with the host, this arrangement was not a problem. The shower was very impressive!...The room was very clean, comfortable and well stocked with tea, coffee and milk etc. Full access to smart TV was also included. Breakfast was plentiful and very pleasant. The stay was great value for money. We would stay again if the opportunity arises.....10 out of 10....

Nothing to dislike. Just be careful as you come through the side gate to the property, especially in the dark. I fell down the step into the shrubbery.......a light would be useful. Please accept this as a positive criticism.

Continental-style breakfast was varied and wholesome. Room was clean, warm, comfortable and well equiped. Host was informative and friendly. There were a number of places to eat in Birchington village and I can recommend Sea Bells Cafe and Minnis Fish And Chips.

No problems!
