The Cedars Bed and Breakfast

The place was clean and neat.

On arrival already, was not greeted with a warm welcome but told she didn't have my credit card details on file, I said yes because it's been paid. She made me check that it went off my account (paid via booking com) but she made such a point about not having my credit card details (no idea why she would need them). Already made me uncomfortable. Was shown to the room, given keys and told what time breakfast was and we had to pick a time now for breakfast. The room was upstairs, above a heated swimming pool, no ceilings and unbelievably hot. It has aircon but it's undersized for that room. Left it on while we went out for dinner and show, so that the room would be more bearable on return, came back and someone had gone into our room, while we were out and switched it off. Shocked that they even went into our room while we were out. Came back to a scorching hot room. Wasn't allowed to swim at that time to cool down ( weren't told this on arrival but saw sign in the corner on other side of the pool). The one bed, half the mattress has collapsed - it looks like it's got broken springs and "pot holed". Woke up in the night with scratching sounds - realised there were rats living in the thatch. Battled to sleep after that. Breakfast was terrible for the price you pay. We were asked how we wanted our eggs, did not come the way we asked. 1 person doesn't eat eggs, the other didn't eat bacon. Asked if they can give the 1 the others eggs and the other the bacon. Was told will start off with 3 eggs, didn't get that. Didn't get the bacon or sausage from other plate. Tomatoes tasted of metal (none of us could eat it). The juice was a concentrate which was terribly sweet and could taste was not real fruit juice. Coffee option was the cheapest, worst coffee. And then to make things worse, got bugged by numerous messages and phone calls at 08h30 about coming to pay for breakfast and my bill.

The peaceful environment. No disturbances

The cigarette smell. There is a need to freshen the rooms as some people are none smokers.

The room was so clean and welcoming.The bed was comfortable and they put extra blankets.They had iron and ironing board in place. Had cupboard to put cloths and the rooms has both bathroom and shower. The wifi reception was also having good signal.

On my arrival, i wanted to rest but there was noise where people were playing snooker.

Sandra, was very pleasant and accommodating. Made us feel welcome. Breakfast was lovely. Quiet and peaceful area.

Pool was closed...Kids would have enjoyed that.
