The Araliya Retreat

The retreat is a perfect place. Huge rooms and bathroom, extremely clean and very well mantained. Staff are very professional and attentive to detail. The breakfast is quite big and very good. During our two nights stay we had dinner at the property and the food was delicious and at reasonable price. They let us use their bikes to explore around and arrange a scooter rental for the next day. We recommend this place to everyone.

This is not about the property but about the location. Take into account that de place is in Kalpitiya town, and is the only hotel in the town. which is a local town with nothing much. The rest of the hotels in Kalpitiya are on the west part of the peninsula (Kudawa?). So, if your plan is staiying in a remote and very nice environment, this is your place.

Beautiful villa with excellent facilities and friendly, attentive staff. Great views across the lake and lots of local wildlife to admire. Delicious food, especially the Ceylon pancakes!

A little out of the way, however worth the trip as the accommodation itself was fantastic.

We loved its secluded location; it is off the beaten track but Kalpitiya is within walking distance. The staff were fantastic - very attentive and friendly. The food was utterly delicious, the best we have had in Sri Lanka.
