Location is great, pub is cosy. Staff are friendly.

Big gap under the door let in a lot of light from the hallway all night. Draught excluders would help block that out. Noisy after untill midnight and before 7am. Think staff were banging doors and furniture for tidy and preparation. Food was expensive for what it is. We had the burgers.

Very comfortable and warm room off of the main pub. Staff were accommodating and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. Breakfast was included in the price and was very nice with plenty of choice. Great location for nearby South Downs walking routes.

Just a few small things like arriving to a used toilet and a half drunk bottle of water that we think was meant to be complimentary. The door on our bathroom did also get stuck which caused one of us to be locked in for over 10 minutes... They were small inconveniences, however, or were dealt with quickly by the staff.

Lovely old inn. Very comfortable and excellent breakfasts.
