Beautiful view. Meticulously maintained.

Prior to arrival, the owner asked if we required airport pickup and gave us the price. I brought to her attention that the listing clearly states “Airport shuttle (free)”. In fact it’s mentioned three separate times in the listing. The catch is that it requires a two night minimum, but you don’t learn that until after you’ve booked, and it comes in the form of an email. It wasn’t a huge deal and I truly was just bringing it to her attention, but she made it a big deal. When I translated her response to me from French, she referred to my comments as “nonsense”, or “saying stupid things”. It was extremely rude and inappropriate, especially since the listing is not accurate as posted. She could have just apologized for any misunderstanding. Something else to know, which she neglected to tell me, was that many taxis refuse to drive to the property due to the condition of the road for fear of damaging their vehicle. Several drivers told me no before I finally got someone to take us up. If you read previous reviews, there is much discussion about the road, however no mention of it from the owner. You will also see from previous reviews that the owner is very argumentative and refuses to take responsibility for any negative comment. It’s very unfortunate that our initial engagement tainted our experience because the property is magnificent. The owner just needs to work on her people skills. Je regrette seems to not be in her vocabulary.

Sandrine and Lu were helpful, kind, generous hosts. The bungalow is adorable , well appointed and comfortable. The view is remarkable. Would absolutely stay here again.

The drive to the property is quite steep. It is pitch black by 6:30pm which makes going out to dinner nearly impossible. There is a restaurant that delivers pizza and a few pasta / local dishes. The pizza was very good with a wide selection of toppings. However, there were a few restaurants we would have tried, but too hard to get too. I wouldn’t want to feel trapped or that I had to make dinner every night so I wouldn’t stay here more than a 3-4 nights myself.

Friendly & helpful hosts. The beautiful view made it nice to relax on the patio. Clean and well-appointed apartment. We enjoyed our stay.

Couple was nice. Great view of the bay. Had a nice, updated, and clean place. Wish we had more time in Raiatea to take advantage of the infinity pool.

Wish we had AC. Road to the house was a little rocky. Definitely need a car to get into town.

We absolutely loved our stay at Fare Mahi Mahi. The facilities in the fare are excellent: the kitchen well equipped; the bathroom modern; and, the bedding exceptionally comfortable. The view is probably the best feature with a very beautiful outlook towards Huahine and an unencumbered sunrise. Truly magical! It was very special having a pool to use after a long day exploring the island. Our host went above and beyond to ensure our stay on Raiatea was the best it could be. She collected us from the airport, organised all our tours and arranged our hire car. An absolutely amazing service that we couldn’t have done without. Very highly recommended!
