The host was great and met me at the bus stop. The house was comfortable with a nice kitchen, and home baked goods! The property was always responsive when I wrote with questions. I was able to walk everywhere in the village.

Nothing.

It is our best stay in Portugal in two weeks! It is a beautiful old house with his own character! Fresh fruits from the owner's garden, home-made cookies and marmalade! The owner, Sr. Elísio, host, builder, made us feel like we were a family member. He stopped by one evening and brought us to his farm, we tested his own vine and brandy. His life story was very interesting. The hospitality at its highest! Hole house just for our family! Quiet place, fresh air, old village! Monsanto is a magic place!

We were greated by a 88-years young owner, who started his business 17 years ago - this was the first house in Monsanto to be used for tourism. The owner gave us very useful tips for visiting the town and suggested places to eat. His wife baked cookies for us, gave us homemade marmelade, and filled our fridge with oranges. The hospitality at its highest! Thank you so much! Apart from the washing machine, the house is equipped with everything and is spacious. There is air condition and all the windows have mosquito nets. The area is lovely and Monsanto is magical. We could easily spend a week or two at this beautiful place and in the surroundings.

We stayed for two nights only and we loved everything.

The house is beautifully decorated with a lot of fantasy and imagination. There are fresh flowers on the table, fresh fruit from the owners garden, and home-made marmalade. Probably the best sleeping night we spent in Portugal: absolutely quiet, fresh warm air with the windows opened in the bedrooms. In the morning Maria cooked for us excellent breakfast - we could not finish all the food that they gave us. The boulders-surrounded houses of Monsanto are several minutes walk up the road. And you can park on the street right at the Casa da Maria.

Perfect location: safe, quiet, space to park your car and walking distance to town, the castle and everything else beautiful Monsanto has to offer. Lovely house that felt like home: clean, spacious, traditional, private, everything you need is provided and more. But what made my stay extra special was the kindest host: such a genuine nice person with a lot of life experience around the world and interesting stories to tell, with the best local tips. Great communication, hospitality, flexibility and kindness. Thank you so much for everything❣️

The only thing I didn’t like was: leaving. I loved absolutely everything 😊!
