Casa Mandara B&B

The staff were very friendly. They were kind enough to let us leave our luggage there ahead of time..The room was spacious and beautiful. The balcony was very nice and overlooked the beautiful town. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and we would like to thank the host for that.

This is a town built on the mountain, with no street pakings. There are limited and very expensive parkings available in town. Therefore the access to different areas is by climbing the stairs or slopes. The location was relatively distant from the beach level, but the good thing about it was that it was not very far from the street level. When we searched for the room, it appeared under the category of rooms with parking, but apparently this was a problem with the search engine, as the owner had not claimed to have a parking. The other small problem was with the sink which didn't drain, but I think that this is a minor problem which can be easily fixed.. The last issue was that there were no blinds to block the light in the morning. Again, a rather minor issue which can be easily fixed.

The photographs do NOT do these beautiful rooms any justice. The rooms are very spacious. Big comfy beds with beautiful bedding, plenty of fluffy pillows. Plenty of space to put your clothes and bits and pieces. Lovey bathrooms with big mirrors and lots of light with plug points making it easy to do your hair and makeup. Both bedrooms lead onto good sized balconies with the most wonderful views of Positano. Fridges in both rooms, which came in handy as I bought myself some G&T and kept it in there. We went to Positano with our two boys and so we had both of the rooms and they were pretty much next to each other. Coming into the property there’s a lovely courtyard with a coffee maker and more tables to sit at. Every morning we had breakfast prepared for us with coffees, juice and either a sweet or a savoury breakfast, out on the balcony, no better way to start your day! Our hosts Pepè and Maria are completely lovely. Pepè met us off the boat as we sailed into Positano from Naples. He was so attentive and helpful and always just at the end of the phone. One day I got quite lost and he was going to come and get me! But I figured it out. Anything I needed I only had to ask like for an iron and ironing board for example.

People on some of the reviews were complaining about the steps, but that’s Positano! And if you want the views then you need the height! However you can get the blue bus (Positano Interno) from the main square every 30 minutes (get a gelato while you wait from the shop opposite) for 1euro 30 and it drops you off close to the apartment.

The room was beautiful, spacious and included a large terrace with an incredible view. Maria and Pepe and their employee, Gina, were attentive and supportive during our stay. They provided advice and also made some spa appointments for us. Breakfast was included and delivered each morning to our terrrace. There were 2 options - we tried both and loved them both. We would stay at Casa Mandara again without question.

Lovely B&B, room was large & clean, facilities were very good. The proprietors were great. Loved enjoying the view while having a delicious breakfast on the balcony.
