A wonderful stay with a truely authentic friendly local family. Incredibly kind and welcoming. The meals provided were fantastic in their small basic restaurant overlooking the bay.

We had the pleasure of spending two nights at Surf Paradis and it was exactly what we were looking for—laid-back vibes right by the ocean, an unbeatable location, and delicious, authentic dinners. Most importantly, the hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, giving us the space to be curious, ask questions, and truly connect. In over 20 years of traveling through Asia, this family stands out as one of the loveliest we’ve ever met. If you’re looking to stay just minutes from a quiet, beautiful beach—with a fun little longboard wave at your doorstep—away from the hustle and bustle, and be hosted by some of the kindest people in Sri Lanka, we highly recommend Paradise Surf.

I booked a room for about 3000 rupee on booking.com. the owner messages menon whatsapp that the price on booking is wrong, that it's actually 10 000., but since I'm really in a budget, they agreed on 3000 anyhow. The owners were super kind and we had a good talk, but it just didn't make up for the experience. A room next to the sea, nice at first sight, but the room had many shortcomings. The toilet sprayer was broken, a lot of switches and plugs not working, the soap looked as if it was already used. The bathroom was in a poor condition. A lot of notes on the walls saying what you can and can't do, the way the mosquito net is hung up and the little side lamp hangs froms the wall. I wouldn't even pay 3000 for the room, although it's beautiful location. Dogs kept me up all night, sitting right next to my cottage barking, howling, fighting... I didn't get any sleep at all. One dog was quite aggressive which frightened me a bit. When I wanted to go for an early morning walk, In couldn't because the gate was locked and I couldn't get off the terrain. 2000 for curry with rice, 1500 for a breakfast... just way too expensive for what it is. The people are so nice and I wish I could wriye a good review but unfortunately this is my truth.

We had an amazing stay at this property! The location was perfect, with a stunning view of the bay, ideal for both swimming and surfing. The kids had an absolute blast exploring the area, and they were especially excited about all the plants and animals around. The family that runs the place were incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxing and peaceful family vacation!

Very reasonably priced guesthouse in a great location, at a lovely quiet beach in the off season. Family were very friendly, helpful and considerate. We had the large original one room "house" (not the smaller room closer to the beach), with a double bed for one of us and a quite small single bed for the other adult. An attached undercover outside area with table and chairs and couch was also provided. Mosquito nets and pedestal fans were provided, and the bathroom was adequate. Meals were available on request, and the family efficiently arranged transport for us.

We really felt the lack of A/C in our room and were jealous of the availability of it in the other room we didn't book as it only had a double bed. There were a lot of flies around the eating area all the time (something we didn't encounter elsewhere in Sri Lanka). The food was a bit hit and miss, with some very good dishes and some not great. It seemed they were unused to catering for vegetarians, and some of our requests/ suggestions seemed to be misunderstood due to language differences.
