Hotel Fotiya jaisalmer

Good hotel, less than ten minutes walk from the fort and the old bazaars. I appreciated that there was plenty of hot water and also a kettle in the room. Staff were very friendly and helpful and gave me a welcome drink. The food in the roof top cafe was really excellent. I had some grumbles, as you can see below, however, overall I was pleased with my stay there.

My bathroom and bedding were very clean but my bedroom floor wasn't - I kept my flip-flops on inside the room. I had asked for a room with a balcony but probably due to a language misunderstanding, was given a room with a window seat! I wouldn't have wanted to sit there with the windows open because it would have looked onto the street. The upstairs cafe would benefit from a clean up and some measures to keep flies out. Jaisalmer is very hot with a lot of animals so naturally it is full of flies but there are ways to reduce numbers such as screens and fans.

Hotel Fotiya is conveniently situated in Jaisalmer and easily walkable to the fort area and all restaurants and sites. The hospitality at Fotiya is amazing and the staff were so kind and welcoming. Fotiya even drive us to the bus station, organised our tickets and made sure we were on the right bus! He also organised a non tourist dessert safari which was a fabulous experience. The rooms are incredible value for money and spacious and clean with hot water.

Ali is hospitable and polite. We did the desert excursion- great experience- very accommodating giving us use of the showers before leaving. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the gentleman in the restaurant, but his food was yummy. Great value for money.
