Dong Loan Hotel

Most authentic location , nice staff. BE OPEN for an authentic stay - do not measure with your maybe usual attitude and you will have a very pleasant stay

If you’re a privileged, entitled traveler (like most reviewers here) accustomed to western/european hotels then just stay in Vĩnh with the other tourists. If you want an authentic Vietnamese experience come stay at Dong Loan.

The food was nice

The place is run to the ground

Only two small towels provided. No bedsheet on the bed cover (?). Toothpaste that was already used…? First room that we got smelled like some chemicals so we asked for a different room. In the evening I was told by some old lady to leave the common area and go to the room (?)

Close to the town centre/main road through town, so made it a convenient location for a stay while on the road north. Room had air conditioning and hot water. Hosts were friendly and welcoming. Coffee, egg baguette and some watermelon for breakfast.

No soap/shampoo provided for the shower, fortunately I had my own. Toilet seat was broken. Mattress cover had been washed but had large stains on it, could do with replacing with a new one.

Not worth the price

Stayed here for a single night whilst doing a motorbike trip, worst hotel ive ever stayed in. Room had a hornet, yes hornet nest in, i informed the kind lady in reception and she moved me to a shared dorm which was just me, sounded good, until i got to the room, bed sheets were dirty and uncomfortable, the walls were slippery with grease, i genuinley didnt feel comfortable taking off the clothes ive motorbiked for 5 hours in that day to sleep or wash, was then charged another 40% extra when checking out for a meal i said i didnt want but was encouraged by the sweet old lady to eat, and to not be rude i accepted, cold rice and bland chicken breast with vegetables i thought would leave me ill but i ate out of politeness. If you are looking for a place to stay to wash, refresh and get ready for the next day, this is not the one.. learn from my mistake and just ride past this place, good luck.

The owner was fantastic, spoke great English, and took care of all my requests. I needed to get to Hue with my motorbike, but it was very rainy. He arranged a bus to Hue that could also transport my bike and even organized a truck from his place to take the motorbike, so I wouldn’t have to ride in the heavy rain. So thoughtful and beyond expectations!
