House on the Hill

The best Bed and Breakfast we stayed in NZ North Island. Super clean, spacious and well equipped room overlooking Mt Egmont National Park on the left and the ocean on the right. The ensuite bath is bigger than my bedroom in my country! The host is lovely and amiable and truly takes pride in taking care of her place. We love it so much that we didn't want to leave.

Amazing views!!

Exceptional Location, Unbelievable Views, Large Apartment, Obiging Hosts (Rossyln & David) , Large Heated Tiiled Bathroom Floor and Private Outdoor Area. Snow covered peak of Mt. Egmont in the distance was incredible. You would be crazy not to book this incredible self contained apartment !

Everything! The panoramic views from our room are out of this world! The room is large, warm and super comfortable.

The view was amazing. Very clean and tidy. Lots of nice details. Very comfy bed.

No fully equiped kitchen with stove. But still options for meal preparation.

Beautifully presented very clean room with the most gorgeous bathroom. The view was stunning with Mt Taranaki, green countryside and the ocean in the distance right there to be enjoyed from the room which was such a treat after a stormy night on our first night. Good communication with clear instructions for entry. I'd definitely stay again.

We were there on a very stormy night and the wind, thunder and lightning were frightening on top of the hill. We went out for dinner and found the steep driveway hard to navigate in the fog. There wasn't any sensor lights at the top of the driveway so very dark walking from the car around to our room where lights finally came on. The included breakfast options of just Weetbix and cornflakes with milk and bananas were a bit limited. Some bread, butter and spreads to make toast too would have been good and maybe muesli. There was a toaster if you bring your own bread but when travelling on it's not practical to have to buy butter etc.

It would be difficult to top this place anywhere. Perched high for spectacular 360 views we loved this stay. Roslynn greeted us and gave a few tips on things to see and do. The separate rooms adjoining the main home were pristine and well equipped and breakfast cereal, etc were provided. New Plymouth is a lovely town with numerous golf courses and bush walks under the volcano. Highly recommend!
