Laguna Surfing Stay

Lovely staff. Peaceful, clean and comfortable room. Good location near good surfing beaches.

Location, location, location ! The location is excellent for surfing, Lazy Left and Lazy Right spots and beach are just in front of Laguna Surfing Stay, on the other side of the street. By climbing the stairs you can watch and check the spot directly from the rooftop. Boards rental shops, restaurant and Café are just minute away/100m. The family running the place are very kind to assist and they make their best efforts to ease your stay. They can organise transport, tuk tuk, scooter rental and even National Park visit... Beds and bathrooms are good and bedrooms are equipped with fans. Overall property is clean and maintained. A tip when it becomes very hot during the afternoon is to go next to the beach on the other side of the street and relax there, their neighbor is running a beach cabana business under coconuts trees there with good tea, coffee, Sri Lankan pastries and lounge chairs. A very good way to loose 5 degrees celcius and get fresh air at just 50 meters distance away.

Good value for money regarding our overall stay, breakfasts are not served anymore but you can find good restaurants such as the "Right Corner" at very close distance (100m), thanks to Laguna Surfing Stay good location, so it was ok finally after our early morning surf sessions. Train is passing just behind the property and the main road between Midigama beach and property is busy, but this is part of the local ambiance in a way and by being positive we can say it is finally a good way also to be among the first at the waves peak early morning and before sun burns :-) , also there is no train between more or less 10 PM to 5:15 am allowing you to sleep correctly still.

I stayed just for one night, the room was clean and the bed was comfy. The host was available for recommendations and offered a taxi service.

Furniture look a little bit old

Basic room. Just what I expected. Nofrills, but nothing to complain.

This is our 3th time in Sri lanka and for us was an amasing expiriens to be with that family, they are super kind and helpfull,we felt really taken care of .The rooms are very new and clean and is just a meters from the beach and a great surf spots. We had a great time there and highly recomend this place to stay. Special thanks to Lachan for everything and we hope to come back soon.
