Gowan Brae Bed & Breakfast

Great hosts, good location.We were made to feel really welcome.

This is a well maintained and exceptionally clean B&B. Our room was good, overlooking the loch. Breakfast was excellent, and the owners couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable. No problem dropping off luggage before check in or using the dining room as a lounge if check out is too early for you. It’s a short walk into town, but you do have to negotiate a flight of steps. We were very pleased with our stay here.

What a lovely B&B. My husband and I really enjoyed our 3 nights at Gowan Brae. The room was cozy, the bed was comfy (the sound of birds making it extra inviting). The breakfast options were great and very filling! The owner was very friendly. The whole place is decorated with charming art and furnishings, the common area scented with a local candle. Complimentary coffee and cookies in the room. Local guidebooks. A small TV in the room. We appreciated the water heating system with the "eco" option. These are just some thoughts that might be of note for future guests reading this, but were absolutely not an issue for us-- The water pressure for the heated water in the shower is quite light. The bathroom / shower in our room was small which is the right size for us but might be difficult to access if you are of a larger build. You can hear other people in the house sometimes but everyone was courteous and not loud at all.

The hosts gave us so much information about thimgs to do .the comfiest bed in scotland . The food excellent

The room was clean and cosy , Ann, the host went above and beyond to make our stay good. The choice of breakfast was lovely and it was beautifully cooked, with a choice of tea and fresh coffee alongside. The property is a short walk from Fort William town centre and easily walkable from the station, and less than 5 minutes by taxi.

Lovely house, close to pubs and restaurants. Parking at the house. Very friendly host. Huge enjoyable breakfast. Convenient self check in.

I couldn’t have been happier to stay at Gowan Brae. The room was well appointed with everything I could’ve needed, the location was far enough from the Main Street to be quiet but a quick walk from restaurants, and the proprietor, Anne, was affable and welcoming. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and made better with a view of the Loch. I would recommend to anyone visiting Fort William.

We enjoyed a very warm welcome and immediately felt at home. The guest house is incredibly lovingly furnished, everything seems very professional and well thought out, but still you find a family atmosphere. The breakfast is very tasty, with attention to detail. We would have liked to stay longer and will definitely come back!

The B&B was the best during our trip through Scotland. The breakfast is served with a lot of love and you will be filled for the whole day. We loved it there.
