Sorbietrees B&B

Besides the comfortable room and the marvellous location, it was the kindness and hospitality of the owner that really sets this B&B apart from so many others. Sandy did everything that she could to make us feel welcome, with a kindness that we will easily remember. Warmly recommended to all travellers on their way around Newcastleton. Wonderful b and b! A friendly welcome. All sorts of little touches: bathrobes, slippers, fresh milk and a variety of hot drinks in the room. Large, cozy, freshly decorated impeccably cleaned room. The mattress was fairly soft and offered good support. Excellent breakfast. We could choose from an extensive breakfast menu the night before, and everything was served fresh, excellently cooked and exactly as ordered.

Our very large, cozy (private) bathroom was across the landing and down a couple of steps, which didn't bother us. The huge corner bathtub with its rather short curtains and large step to access it would be wonderful to enjoy a lengthy soak, but was less than ideal as a shower.

The property is out of the way but easily reachable by car. Parking was easy . The room and en-suite bathroom was laid out with clean towels , bathrobes , house slippers and an ample supply of toiletries and tea ,coffee and a nice touch fresh milk. Sandy was a super host welcoming , helpful and informative and made a super and very generous Scottish breakfast .

We loved everything about Sorbietrees B&B. The host was very friendly, warm and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent and the location was so quiet and peaceful which gave us a good night sleep. The B&B was exceptionally clean and would highly recommend it.

Friendly welcome and advice. Room and Bed very comfortable. Interesting books in the lounge. Breakfast excellent.

Due to our age, the twist in the stairs and separate bathroom. The corner bath and hand held shower proved problematic. Would have preferred and en-suite shower room.

It was a beautiful peaceful setting. High quality facilities with tasteful decor. I liked the fact there was a sitting room so you didn’t have to sit up in your room. I was made very welcome and my needs well catered for. Breakfast was great too. It was a very friendly atmosphere

Very comfortable and scrupulously clear with a delicious breakfast and very friendly host. Room has everything we needed and the location is delightful. The carpets are extremely luxurious so no outdoor shoes! A table setting was laid for us to eat out evening meal that we had brought with us

I would have preferred an en suite shower room although the bathroom was just across the corridor and was exclusively ours.
