Beautiful property - house and gardens. Caroline is an exceptional host!

Everything about our stay was a delight. Caroline is a perfect host, who will treat you as a guest in the true sense -nothing is too much trouble, and you feel very quickly that you are 'at home'. The location is a perfect English village, and the house is gracious and tasteful. Breakfast is delicious , and served on beautiful English china in the traditional manner. We were very sad to leave, and are already making plans to return as soon as possible. A holiday to remember, always.

From the moment we arrived, our warm welcome from Caroline we felt all would be amazing, it was. Our stay was filled with care & touched with luxury, an original period home that one dreams of, what a treat, from a sumptuous bed, to indulgent bathroom with slipper bath, relaxing scented toiletries, incredible views, grounds to delight at every turn. Peaceful rural area near to good pub/ restaurant, village store. Delicious, breakfast local produce, eggs were direct from the resident hens, all cooked to perfection. We could go on & on, superb, can’t wait to return ….

Beautiful country house with extensive and stunning gardens to explore. The breakfast spread was generous and absolutely delicious. Caroline is an absolute delight and ensured we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay with our young toddler including thoughtful touches such as bath toys and baby body wash for us to use. We used the B&B as a base to explore wider Somerset and the coast and there’s a lot to see within a 30-40 minute drive. We can’t wait to return!

Caroline was an amazing host, Sam (the dog) was a great companion for the kids! Lots of outdoor space, indoor toys and games to keep the little ones occupied for hours on end. Loved the intimate breakfasts and feeling like this was a home away from home!

Where to begin... Our stay was perfect. This property is exceptionally well-maintained, the garden is such a lovely place to have the afternoon tea, the breakfast is tasty, the place is clean and full of character. Our host has been incredibly pleasant throughout the stay, providing us with great recommendations in the area, and genuinely caring for our well-being. We cannot stress enough how much we appreciated this personal touch, and the kindness we were welcomed with. The Old Rectory is such a charming place, with a decoration style that perfectly matched our expectations. The breakfast is served in nice cutlery and china, the beds are super comfortable, you can spot squirrels running around in the garden, the furniture is admirable. Thank you for this wonderful bit of English countryside.
