"Excellent"

Booked a 2 night stay at Swan house, I was expecting a b&b type stay, but it was a private room so that was even better, had a lovley view of the mountains from the window. Our first night the owner directed us to a local pup for food and drink, and the bar on site was closed, this was in a idyllic location with friendly staff and locals, Booked breakfast on site for the first morning, and this came out exactly how we had asked for this, there was no issue in extra tea and toast either. Second night we had drinks and chill out in the on site bar, the match was on but his caused no issues and no 'bar/match" behaviour just good people enjoying a sport. The host was friendly welcoming and nothing was an issue. Even offered to drive us to the train station if we wanted to head into York for the day to save on parking The site is secure with gated access. Room was clean spacious and tidy Breakfast excellent Bar, clean tidy and welcoming I would highly recommend swan house for a stay, even if you dont need to leave, the grounds and surprisingly quiet and relaxing.

There was no negatives in our stay

Cooked breakfast was excellent! Owners were really welcoming and so accommodating. Great location and great grounds. Lots of nice touches including the 'secret garden'.

"Fantastic"

What a fantastic little find this place was. From the moment we entered the premises we were greeted by the owner, who was extremely friendly and helpful. Even gave us a lift to the wedding we were attending a few miles down the road. All the staff and locals were super friendly in the bar. John offered to do us breakfast in the morning for a small charge- which was a lovely home cooked breakfast. Couldn’t find any faults and will be returning

"Excellent place for a Coast to Coast overnight stay right by the A19 bridge."

Perfect location for the Coast to Coast walk, right next to the only bridge over the A19. Very comfortable and clean room, plenty of space to dry stuff, and a good breakfast to send us on our way.

Only tricky bit is that there is nowhere nearby to eat in the evening. There are lots of pubs a taxi-ride away, but the taxi does need to be pre-booked!
