The property was very clean and decorated to a good standard. The beds were comfortable and there was ample parking outside

The property was advertised as "Apartment with Garden View" at "Private Luxury Retreat". Neither of these descriptions was correct. The "apartment" was nothing more than two separate bedrooms off a shared hallway, with no door or gate separating our area from the rest of the house, where who knows who was staying. It was neither an apartment nor private, in any sense of the word. Only one of the bedrooms even had a lock on it, such that our young son was scared (rightfully) knowing that complete strangers could potentially come into his room, so both nights we ended up dragging the single mattress through to the floor in our room so we could lock the door and he could feel safe in with us. This totally defeated the object of us having paid more for a 2-bedroom place for the weekend. Additionally, every single movement from upstairs was so loud downstairs that none of us, including our child, could sleep until the movement stopped - both nights around or after midnight. The listing laughably mentions "soundproofing"! When we raised these issues with the owner, he seemed to understand our concerns, however his offer of compensation falls far short of the 50% we believe would be fair, seeing as we were lied to and were only able to use half of what we booked.

Nice and spacious.

Clean tidy room, good value for money. This is a room within a larger house.

Check in process confusing, nobody answered the door so had to call the host to get instructions on how to enter.

Martin who manages the property was amazing!! So so helpful and does a great job maintaining the property and attending to guests needs. Really made my stay so much better

Inability to lock accommodation door from inside to the main house.. had children so was a little worrying,
