One Pelham Grove Bed & Breakfast

Wonderful host and excellent room & bed. Very comfortable. Custom breakfast in the morning was a super nice addition. I traveled to get out for a weekend, see the nearby war museum in Duxford, and it fully met my expectations for comfort and peace. Great nearby food options for the evening (the host will gladly advise you) Will stay again.

Nothing to point out in the property, all was perfect. Just one tip: if you drive after dark around the area (eg going to the pub) please note that roads are quite dark and there are patches with bad cellphone reception. thus, if you rely on GPS and plan to be around after dark, make sure to have offline maps of the area downloaded in your phone

Excellent breakfast, with plenty of choice, to start the day, and good, clean facilities and shower. Quiet location. Friendly and obliging host who enjoyed chatting. Well located for Saffron Walden and Audley End.

Bedroom was on the smaller size.

The breakfast was OK, but it was only cereal, toast or eggs & bacon (the latter had to be asked for). The rooms were comfortable but there were no locks on the door. There was tea and coffee sachets but I had to repeatedly ask for milk.

The host was cold and every request seemed like a chore or a burden for her. What particularly upset me was that - after my stay and for reasons unknown to me - the host contacted my future landlord (I was in the area viewing properties to rent) and told him that I was a horrible person, I trashed her bedroom and bathroom (I did not) and that my cats (!) would destroy his house and that he should not rent to me. This behaviour is utterly unacceptable and was specifically designed to harm me. The only point of reference where she may have found issue was my view that Brexit had been a bad decision, as she said she felt it was an excellent thing.

Property was well presented, very clean and comfortable. Lovely room with ensuite. Shower was hot and powerful. Great nights sleep followed by a lovely breakfast. Juliette is lovely and the place is a total credit to her.

A lovely comfortable spotless room. The breakfast was perfect, especially the homemade marmalade! And a fantastic welcoming host. Hope to back again soon. Highly recommended.
