Garni La Vara

The hotel is in an excellent location. However, it is tucked behind another property, so it was a little tough to find at first. The location is quiet and within walking distance of ski lifts, information office, and restaurants. The breakfast was very good with hot eggs made to order, home made jam, and home made yogurt. The staff were very helpful (pointed out good hikes, what apps to use for trails, etc.). Fellow travelers were interesting and pleasant. Bus stop is very close. We had a car and parking at the property was easy. We also used the bus.

Roberto makes you feel like you’re staying at home! He can’t do enough to keep you well fed and give the best tips for local hikes and restaurants! We will be back

Accesso comodo a tutti i servizi della città, turist pass dedicato per utilizzare mezzi pubblici gratuiti per la durata del soggiorno. Colazioni abbondanti fatte in case e sul momento. Camera accogliente e in stile tipico, con bagno incluso. Roberto e sua moglie sono di una gentilezza e disponibilità unica.

Il proprietario del Garni è stato attento e molto disponibile, sempre pronto a darci consigli (anche un po' ambiziosi) sulle passeggiate della zona durante la colazione, che è comprensiva di uova fatte sul momento, yogurt e dolce fatti in casa. Inoltre, il fatto che la camera venisse sistemata ogni giorno, rendeva il rientro in hotel la sera ancora più gradevole!

The Nice family running the place, very service minded. Breakfasts lovely. The garden nice. Available free parking. Nice location.

As for the hotel superb very kind and helpfull owners. Also this was one of the cleanest hotels I've been to. Room was very spacious. Hotel is located at the very center of Corvara but not on the main street so it is quiet and peaceful. If travelling to Corvara, I highly recommend La Vara. As for the town itself, a true hikers paradise, close to everything you should see in Dolomiti, and this is my 3rd trip to Dolomiti.

My stay at Garni la Vara was truly exceptional, and I’m incredibly grateful for the wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, everything was handled with care and attention. Roberto, the host, was especially helpful—he made the late self check-in process seamless and stress-free, which meant a lot after a long day of travel. What really stood out was his kindness and thoughtfulness throughout our stay. When the weather didn’t cooperate with our original trekking plans, Roberto went out of his way to check the forecast for us and recommended some beautiful alternative places to visit. Thanks to his suggestions, we were able to enjoy our time fully and discover hidden gems we might never have found on our own. His warm hospitality made all the difference, and I feel truly thankful for his support and guidance. Garni la Vara is not just a place to stay—it’s a welcoming home that I would happily recommend to anyone looking for a memorable and comfortable visit.
