Authentieke lokatie, super vriendelijk personeel, heerlijk ontbijt & diner, prachtig dakterras. Er wordt alles aan gedaan om het naar je zin te maken. Makkelijk dichtbij bewaakt parkeren. Leuk dorp en perfecte lokatie om Volubilis te bezoeken.

With a terrace that has a wonderful view meals are special. The food is good, and the breakfasts are very satisfying. All the staff are very friendly, helpful, and have good English and French.

The wifi is just fine for general use, but not for serious work.

This lovely women-run guesthouse is worth a special trip, especially if (like us) you're eager to support women's businesses in male-dominated Morocco. In Moulay Idriss, you'll get a view of daily life in Morocco that you'll never get in the touristy cities, but with enough infrastructure for visitors to be comfortable. The town's central plaza is full of cafes were you can get a hot drink or a juice or a grilled-meat lunch. It's a nice place for people- and donkey-watching. We enjoyed our walking tour of the town with Hajiba, who shared lots of information about daily life for her and other women in Moulay Idriss. The Roman ruins at Volubilis were an easy 45-minute walk away and were much more interesting than we'd expected. (The guesthouse will arrange a donkey ride there, if you'd like.) Breakfasts were ample and tasty, and the a la carte dinners we ordered were delicious (the best chicken pastillas we had during a month in Morocco!). If we'd organized things more in advance, it would have been fun to take a cooking or baking class at the guesthouse. These women definitely know how to cook! All of the staff members communicated with us well and kept the house nice and clean. As in any traditional Moroccan house in a hillside village, expect a lot of stairs. Hamid, their lovely English-speaking driver, can take you to or from Fes or Meknes, or on a driving tour of the region (Morocco's breadbasket), or just to the Roman ruins.

The wifi didn't work very well in our room, so we had to do our work in the central lounge areas. A TV would have been nice, but that wasn't a big deal.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich mit einem Tee empfangen. Die Zimmer sind schön und geschmackvoll eingerichtet und die Betten bequem. Alles war sehr sauber. Die Lage ist zentral mitten im Ort.

Sehr nettes und professionelles Personal. Die Frauen, die dort arbeiten sind einfach toll. Wir haben dort auch zu Abend gegessen und es war klar, das beste Essen, dass wir in Marokko hatten. Das ganze auch vegetarisch und zu einem unschlagbar guten Preis auf der tollen Dachterasse. Der Ort selbst lohnt sich auch, gerade weil er etwas abseits der klassischen Touristenroute ist, trotzdem sehr gut zu erreichen. Absolute Empfehlung!

I enjoyed that it was an all women run establishment. A lovely Breakfast on the terrace overlooking Volubilis was amazing. We had a bit of difficulty finding a taxi that would take us to Volubilis for a reasonable fee. If I could do it over, I would’ve organized transportation through the guest house.

Transportation in this town can be a little challenging.
