Only carrying cases up two flights of stairs but worth it for the views

Rooftop terrace except an umbrella would be good for sun protection while sitting admiring the view

No air conditioning the room was too hot and no space for luggage

Good location.

I don't understand why this has such a high rating. Small room, lot of stairs, no airconditioning, not even a properly working fan and way too expensive. Our stay was not comfortable at all. The only good thing was the location.

The view from the rooftop terrace was beautiful. We appreciated the staff and they were kind. The locking private entrance was appreciated—once we found it.

It was hard to find. There are no signs except for a small placard at the door, which is out of sight from the plaza. It was too hot (a wall air conditioning unit or at least fans in each room would help a little). There is a ceiling fan in the bedroom, but it squeaked with every rotation. We booked the Lake view suite, but the only lake view was from the balcony in the kitchen and the bathroom balcony, which isn’t really conducive to using for viewing the lake. There is a bar right below the bedroom window. The noise from the plaza combined with the heat led to trouble sleeping. The futon wasn’t very comfortable for our daughter, either.

Amazing view from rooftop. Common area was spacious, clean, and accommodating.

Nothing to dislike.

We loved the view and the location - that it wasn’t in the chaos of the waterfront, but handy to it. Also in a lovely piazza with several restaurants etc. We thought Varenna was a good choice to stay as very charming. Also a very well equipped kitchen.
