B&B La Sicilia a Tavola

Buona posizione vicino ai monumenti principali.

Appena arrivati ci è stato chiesto di pagare, arrivati in stanza le foto pubblicate non corrispondevano alla realtà, aria condizionata rotta ( ci hanno lasciato senza neanche un ventilatore con più di 30 gradi), pulizia inesistente, puzza di muffa in camera, cuscini ingialliti e maleodoranti, copriletto sporco. Bagno da rivedere, due bustine di bagnoschiuma appena. Non consiglio assolutamente la struttura, anche perché le opzioni offerte sul sito sono inesistenti, non ci è stato fatto neanche un piccolo sconto per sopperire alle mancanze.

Assenza di aria condizionata a causa di un guasto (che ho scoperto una volta arrivata nella camera) e bagno non come nelle foto e mal ridotto.

Location was perfect….. literally 2 minutes walk to the tower and cathedral square. Owner held our bags all day as we had a late flight which was kind. Local shops and stalls close by, including a McDonald’s for those that feel the need! Bus stop for local bus to LUCCA (E3) was just around the corner and was around £1, and took 25 mins which was great. The bus to the central train station (1+) was also on the opposite side of the road and takes 5 mins.

ACCOMMODATION The room, although big enough was VERY basic, and certainly needed a lick of paint or more. There just seemed to be no care and attention to detail in its simplest form was lacking. There is no curtains, just a window and blinds, so quite light in a morning. There was constant noise as there is a loose drain cover outside in the street, which makes an annoying double bumping noise every time a vehicle goes over it and it is on a main road. No hairdryer, iron or kettle (I did ask for a kettle before we arrived but heard nothing back), but a ‘restaurant’ below if you needed/wanted drinks. The air-con does not work, and has a stain below the system which was commented on 3 years ago, so obviously the owner does not read/ or action these issues. The TV was so small and only broadcast Italian channels. You could hear everything in the next guest rooms including the tv, and the cleaner was not exactly quiet in the mornings using the cleaning cupboard outside our room. BATHROOM The bathroom was a joke. No bigger than a cupboard with a dirty floor, and a battered old bin with loads of dents in it. The sink was tiny and had obviously been resealed around 10+ times which made it look grotty. It’s a wet room, so everything gets wet. The shower curtain rail was like nothing I’ve seen before, and the curtain just stuck to you whilst trying to get a shower. The shower head does not stay in place and aims at the wall, so you have to lift it out the holder and shower using one hand. Water takes ages to get hot but does eventually. There is a large picture frame on the wall which has no picture in it… just dust! There’s no shelf and the sink is so small there is nowhere to put your toiletries… not even your toothbrush & paste. No bathmat so slippery on the stone floor. BED It is 2 beds (almost camp beds) pushed together, with one slightly higher than the other which is annoying. The sheets seemed clean enough.

It was very central and close to leaning tower. Nice touch of bottle water on arrival. Breakfast included coffee and croissant which was great for price.

There was a noise on the road outside, every time a car went over it, it made a loud noise so glad I had my ear plugs or would of been awake all night. 1030 check out too early :(
