La cage aux folles B&B

Very enjoyable room with an amazing view! The host, Carmelita is super nice and helpful; very attentive to our needs (exe: took note of what we prefer for breakfast and she customized ours accordingly; offered lifts with her car, as it was easier for my 70-years mom, gave us advices/ suggestions, etc). The room is very clean and spacious; acces to a beautiful terrace. 3 min from the bus station (bringing us to the city center) and even the city center is very close (walking distance if you are ok with up-hills and heat).

All good for us; nothing negative to say.

It was a quiet area away from the bustle of the town. Parking right on the property. The free bus to center Taormina is just down the road. Perfect place for a relaxing getaway.

The views from the terrace are beautiful. The location is great- short walk to the town and not too far from the beach too. There’s also free shuttle buses to both but we didn’t use them. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Our lovely host, Carmelita, was very hospitable. A highlight of our stay was the generous spread she made us for breakfast on the terrace with the backdrop of the beautiful view. Breakfast included fresh orange juice, fresh croissants, fruit salad, yoghurt, omelette, prosciutto and cheese and delicious coffee too! We had to leave very early on our last morning and she was very nice to pack us a takeaway breakfast. I enjoyed practising my Italian with Carmelita.

Not a problem for us but part of the path to the town is a very tight footpath or walking on the road partly. This is quite a short walk though.

All I missed was the kettle. There is no television, but I didn't miss it at all.

We really enjoyed breakfast served on terrace with fantastic view. Host is very nice. :) Bed is comfortable. Rooms have private entrance and there is private parking. Accomodation is 1 minute by walking for shuttle to Taormina centre (3 minutes ride).

Our stay at La Cage aux Folles B&B in Taormina was truly exceptional. Carmelita, our gracious hostess, made each morning memorable with a delightful breakfast spread featuring fresh pastries, local delicacies, and aromatic coffee, all enjoyed with stunning views of Taormina's picturesque landscape. We appreciated the convenience of the free shuttle to the city center, just a short stroll (3 mins top) from the B&B, which made exploring Taormina effortless. Additionally, the free parking at the B&B was a bonus, making it easy for us to explore the surrounding areas with peace of mind. Overall, La Cage aux Folles B&B offers a perfect blend of breathtaking views, delicious breakfasts, convenient amenities like free shuttle and parking, and outstanding hospitality thanks to Carmelita.

While everything was wonderful, we did notice that the room was a bit dusty and so many mosquito bites we had to endure unfortunately but nothing to do with the facilities just mentioning so nobody can forget their mosquito bite cream or lotion like me

The first thing that you notice on arrival is the stunning panoramic view from the extensive balcony, which is also where our wonderful host, Carmelita, served a really delicious breakfast each morning. Our room was clean, comfortable and had a very good-sized and well-equipped bathroom - perfect for our 2 night stay. The property is just a short walk to a bus station from where a free shuttle runs at regular short intervals to the town centre. On-site parking was a real bonus, and once at the property we did not need to use our car again to move around or visit the town. Carmelita was the perfect host, including providing tips on what to so and see in the town and surrounding area, and we really appreciated her genuine warm hospitality.

The property was initially a little difficult to locate when we were arriving by car. The signage was small and more explicit directions prior to arrival would have helped. That said, Carmelita met us at a close-by location and guided us the last few metres to her property, so it really wasn't a great issue.
