Alta Quota RELAX on the SEA

We had a last-minute change in our travel plans that required an overnight in Salerno, and we were glad Tommaso’s apartment was available. He’s a very kind host, and the apartment is adequately stocked and perfectly clean. The windows are large, so there’s lots of light during the day, and the night shutters work well. The sea view is partially obscured by buildings, but it is still nice to see.

-We booked a “Deluxe Double Room with Balcony and Sea View.” It matches maybe six photos on the Booking listing, so obviously, many reviews are for other rooms. -On the bedroom side of the apartment, you look straight down at the train tracks. The trains don’t run too late in the evening, so it is not a problem unless you go to bed early. But they start up around 5 a.m., and I could still hear them even with earplugs. As others mentioned, there is a noisy neighbor who can be heard through the kitchen wall. She was yelling after midnight and early in the morning. It wasn't very pleasant, but you can't do much about it in an apartment building. -For those with knee, hip, or foot issues, you need to walk two dozen or so steps to reach the lift. There is also a step into the shower. -The breakfast was nothing special, and absolutely not worth 15 euros unless all you care about is convenience. You can buy two fresh cornetti and coffee for half that price at any coffee shop.

Close to the train and bus station, as well as the port for ferries. Tomasso the owner is a very kind person. The kitchen is fully packed and the room is clean and big.

I was a solo traveller staying for a week. Everything was perfect, the room was spacious, modern, super clean with a lovely balcony with view of the sea. The location was ideal, 10 mins from the train station, bus stop, and ferry port. Perfect to explore the area, a great base. Tommaso was a fantastic host, he collected me from the train station on arrival due to the rain. He was friendly and approachable and answered all my queries/questions. A bottle of water was in the fridge on arrival and plenty of towels for my weeks stay. Overall, a 5* experience, and I would return and will definitely recommend it to others.

Personal touch from Thomas was unbeatable. Clean beautiful apartment with side view of river from balcony. 5 to 10 minutes walk from the ferry port from where ferries for Amalfi and Positano leave. On new years eve from our balcony we were able to watch the spectacular fireworks lasting nearly an hour which really made our new years celebrations complete.

Tommasso was so nice- I had booked the room for the wrong date- we showed up a day early, and after a bit of communication difficulty trying to reach him, he arrived and was very accommodating .

The neighborhood is not very interesting and there seemed a lack of good restaurants. But it is close to the train station which was convenient.

the location is great. Everything is within walking distance. 10 minutes to the habour or to the train station and around 20 minutes to the lovely city centre. It's nice to find some business cards from good recommended restaurants on the table. If you have any questions, you can always text the owner, he will help you...but at one point he got quite personal, which I didn't like, that's probably the Italian mentality. 😉

You can't leave the window open, cause it's really noisy from the busy street and the train tracks. The floor of the room was dusty, you could see that on your socks/feet and then in the bed, from your feet. There is a balcony, but no door, so you can't sit out there. You won't find a big breakfast area, you only get one voucher per day for one croissant/pastry and a cappuccino and an espresso which you receive at a special café in the neighbourhood.
